It's both. Qb has to lead his receiver. Amari Cooper had great hands last year, but he was catching balls in his ears.
Btw, this is a stat better measured by YAC/completion vs total YAC per game

Teams like Baltimore, Chicago, Pittsburgh, or Tennessee, which didn't throw a lot, of course, are not going to have a lot of total passing yards, let alone total YAC.

Last year, even with Cooper, Dallas was tied for 19th
This year we are 26th

Very silly. The Cowboys with Dak have been near the top of the league in prior years.

Outside of Lamb, our receivers are among the worst in the league in gaining separation. That's the first place to look.
They really haven't JD.
Not if you go by YAC/catch and not volume.

Receivers need to be able to create space, but also catch a ball thrown in stride. Both tough with this team. Their routes are not designed for big plays. Dak's throws are erratic and just catching 'em brings receivers to the ground.

Have you seen the routes? Then we have a QB who can hit a reicever in stride 1 out of 10 times on slants for big church plays.

How many times have we seen recievers end up stacked up on each other...

Kinds my point, if Dak was more accurate, he could lead the receiver.. but they have to stop and catch.
