Not true with the specific examples I gave.

Tyron's contract was specifically reworked this year to free up cap space and add injury protections, this was not by design since he signed his contract many many years ago.

Tank's contract was specifically reworked as well to free up cap after the original contract was tore up and adjusted for injury protections last year.

Neither contract reworked was by original design.
Totally disagree. All big contracts are designed to be restructured. They can do anything they want while doing it but both those deals were designed and expected to be restructured. Tyron’s is different than typical but only because he agreed to take incentives instead of signing bonus.

I’m convinced ODB puts us over the top. He’s a difference maker.

Convince me I’m wrong.

Maybe, thirteen months ago. However, we know how Jerry get's spooked by the past....and in recent history he's seen a younger receiver return with a fairly significant reduction in production (after his first ACL).

Is OBJ an upgrade, yes and if nothing else he'll free up space/attention to aid CeeDee , forget the personality (Jerry likes himself a character!) but the risk needs mitigating....take a Tyron type deal that guarantee's future years on hitting.

It's not really a 2x tear....it was more of a tear that wasn't fixed properly. Let's be clear and fair on it, the fact is that he had a very bad injury that wasn't fixed properly and now has had it corrected and an extended time to heal.

There is risk and there is upside
Agree the first surgery was apparently done incorrectly, but I think everyone agrees he tore it twice.

He wears magnetic gloves and he has mental issues and will rip a team apart.

Other than that…

He won't make a difference while sitting on the bench. These old vets can't play an entire season without injury. He will most likely be injured by the playoffs and riding the pine.

Positive right up until the subject of what they're willing to pay vs what he thinks he's worth.

I'm doubtbul OBJ can get back to being an all-pro and I'm skeptical on if OBJ can get back to even 2018. Also consider he's only played in 2 full seasons, doesn't see the point playing in the regular season, and has a few screws loose.
yeah funny how they start with 2x all pro lol, he hasnt been that in many years.
Jerry is stupid to waste $ on obj. better to draft a young cheap guy or two.

Good point my friend, I am very skeptical his knee will ever be 100% again. Only way I sign him is if we have injury protections in his contract, but I dont know if he will agree to that.

If it was me running the show, I would just say screw it and trade a 2nd for Dhop.
I'm with you. A 2nd would certainly be bold but I can see it happening. I feel like putting your eggs in the Gallup/Beckham basket is a recipe for disaster. A lot of "ifs" pertaining to injury with that duo.
