The game is completely in hand with 3:41 left, 27-10, and Bledsoe is still in the game.

Please give me the slightest bit of reason why the other backups are in, all running plays, and Blesoe is still in the game and Romo can't sniff the field?

Explain how he is "getting Romo ready" when he is not even trusted to get trash time?

Romo has kneeled down for 1-2 plays and that's it. Let the guy pick up 3:41 of trash time. He should be getting this type of time for the past 3 years and by now have 100 plays under his belt. He could throw some passes too.

Need I mention the last 2 years and last year's end of the Commanders, Rams and other games. No matter how far outa reach the game is BP sticks with Vinny and Bledsoe.

Just imagine for a second that late in the season, we are close or in the playoffs and Romo goes in for an injured Bledsoe. John Madden starts immediately talking about Romo "never having thrown an NFL pass before."

Thank you Parcells for making us competitive again but man you are so frustrating when it comes to QBs.

PS Bledsoe is still holding this offense back. Just look at the underthrown deep pass to TG and luckily holding call on the D. There were plenty of others too.

Well, there were only 4 minutes left last year when they put 14 points on us...

If I had to pick 5 players on this team I think we can't afford to lose, Bledsoe would not be on it. Get Newman, Roy, Ware, Flozell, Witten, TO, Glenn, and a few others out of there pronto!

All he was doing was handing off to JJ and MB3. You want Romo to come in and do that?

The Jax games' 14 points are irrelevent. That game was still on the line and you keep the starters in. I am talking about a clear situation where the game is completely over and it is trash time.

Didn't they say in pre-game that Romo had strained his shoulder or something and that the backup QB would be Crayton or someone crazy? I thought I recall hearing that. No?

I was meaning to refer to last year's game against Washington when they came from behind to beat us.

Yes! Let the guy have a feel for playing in a game. Your heart pounds a little more. He does have feelings. He is human. It does help to start the process of getting comfortable in a game that actually counts. So that when he really is called on he will be slightly more ready. What good does it serve having a veteran QB hand off?

I answered this in the game thread. BP has already said that he doesn't put in a backup QB in these type of situations. He said that he doesn't need to bring in a backup just to hand off or kneel on the ball.

Most fans think "trash time" is a good time to groom a young QB.

Most coaches don't.

If that were the case Henson was half way to Canton with that ONE drive vs the Ravens in a 30-10 blowout.

What the hell is he going to learn how to do but take a snap and hand it off.

Good way to increase the odds of an all out QB controversy.

I would not have put a back up in a game in the NFL with less than 2 full scores in the game. Hence the clear as in 17 point lead we had with 3:41.

So I guess that in the middle of a playoff game, a guy that has never even handed the ball off during a game is supposed to walk into the game and have ice in his veins and play his best because he is not human and gets paid.

Romo could have gotten some valuable handoff experience.

The only trouble is, in your injured Bledsoe example, Madden would still be saying

"Romo has never thrown a pass in an NFL game."

So it really doesn't solve anything.

And I would have him throw a pass. Why not?

Dude get off Romo's sac.. When he throws for 40,000 he will have some cred.. Until then, stay with Drew. Dallas offense isnt getting any younger (TO, GLENN, FLO, RIVERIA, and BIll definitely isnt. Team is built to win now and maybe next couple of years. Bill isnt going to give up on Drew unless hes hurt or performing too poorly. You cant teach a 5.5 pocket passer to scramble and you cant teach a 4.8 QB 14 years of experience.

Because running the clock is better. Because there is no reason to throw a pass. Because the game is in hand. Because no coach in the history of ever (except Rich Kotite in a penguin suit - andy reid) would ever throw a pass in that situation, just so, that when Romo comes in late in the year for an injured Bledsoe, they dont have to hear Madden say

"romo has never thrown an NFL pass."

Instead, they get the much nicer sounding

"Romo has thrown one NFL pass."

It has a nice ring to it.

NOOONE WOULD THROW THE FREAKING BALL IN THAT SITUATION! ARE YOU CRAZY?

So......Romo coming in and handing off, say, 7 times, counts as valuable experience?

Sorry, but please.

Bledsoe was in to manage "garbage time" and not allow it to turn into a disaster.

Also coaches tend to allow starting QBs to finish off important games they have led to wins as a way of thanking and showing confidence in them.

A pass? Why not? Because the point of the game is not to give up the possession of the ball. When you are up by three scores and 3:45 you don't do foolish things like throw the ball.

If Dallas had a coach that would do something as ludicrous as throw the ball everyone including the other assistant coaches and owner would wonder what kind of space cadet is this guy that he's willing to air it out in garbage time of a game we are winning?

Last, it's called class. You don't rub the other team's nose in it.
