I don't need to see Trey Lance. I've seen enough. He is not the answer to any questions I have in 2025.

I definitely want to see more Flournoy, more Luepke, more Schoonmaker, and more Justin Rogers now that the re-acquired him. Get as many questions answered as possible in the next 3 games.

Play whomever is going to lose these last remaining games. There is no good reason to get one more pointless win, there are a few blue chippers within grasp in the 2025 draft.

Is this article for real? Do they really think I want to tune in to see three guys who should probably not even be in the NFL. Lance is a complete joke. Deuce is only here because his daddy works for the team. Mingo is whatever I guess I can live with him for now.
Do you really think Vaughn's college stats weren't sufficient to get him a look in the NFL?

I think Lance was Jerry's attempt to try to play chess with Dak's contract negotiation. Sadly, he doesn't play chess. He plays Chutes and Ladders. I don't think Lance was ever intended to be a serious QB contender.

Think about it. Jerry trades a fourth for a first round QB who struggled. Why waste that 4th round pick right before it was time to negotiate with Dak? It literally seemed like an attempt at a bargaining chip and not a serious attempt to find a possible future QB given the circumstances. After all, Rush at the time was a competent backup. Jerry rarely gets quality QB's to develop behind the starter. So why did he do it? The tape was already there on Lance that shows he wasn't even close to ready for any kind of start, much less replacing anyone, but there was potential there. The contract though meant only having him a short time.

Sooo, the signs point to it being a move for other reasons. The timing fits for it being a move to negotiate from a stronger position. They STILL won't play Lance and it's his last year here. What other team would have paid even a 4th for Lance at that point? Remember, Jerry thinks he's a football genius. He probably thought Dak might feel threatened by the trade. That didn't work out. If they were playing Lance more, you could make the argument that they were seeing what he might develop into him, but they're not.

Personally, I think they should play Lance to see what's there. The Cowboys have no chance this season which means they SHOULD be playing players who desperately need game-time experience to develop. Rush keeps starting though. *Shrug*

He deserves his shot, and he's performed well in the preseason when given one. Although that does not necessarily mean regular-season success, Vaughn has not played enough for us to know. We should bench Elliott, since we know what we have there, and play Dowdle/Vaughn these last three weeks. I don't think we'll do that, though, at least not until we are mathematically eliminated.

How many times in NFL history has a team decided they needed more looks at a RB whose first 44 carries resulted in a 2.1 yards average with as total of 0 TD's?

I see no reason for him to delay what should be a fine career as an NFL analyst or scout.

Mingo has been tossed the ball a total of 122 times in his career. He caught it 57 times for a catch percentage of 46.7. In Dallas he has caught 2 of 11 passes. He has yet to score a TD in his career.

It seems to me that 122 passes is a large enough sample to come away with a conclusion.

Trey Lance continues to demonstrate that he is not ready to start in the NFL. He may be ready someday soon but that day will come long after this season ends.

Here are 3 more perfect examples of how McCarthy has failed the Cowboys. His mismanagement of players is mind boggling to me. I doubt any of these 3 see any playing time because the Cowboys stupidly still think they have a chance for the playoffs. At this point I only expect Mingo to return in 2025.

There may still be three games remaining on the 2024 NFL regular-season schedule, but the Dallas Cowboys really have nothing left to play for. Any hope of reaching the postseason is dead. What they need to do now is start focusing more on the future.

There are still a lot of questions that need to be answered before they can jump entirely into offseason mode, the first and foremost is whether or not Mike McCarthy is worthy of sticking around. Beyond that it comes down to evaluating this roster with an eye on the future.

With that in mind, we would like to see the Dallas Cowboys take full advantage of the final three games remaining this year. By that we mean getting a few players more involved to get a jumpstart on the evaluation process for next year and beyond.
  • WR Jonathan Mingo
  • RB Deuce Vaughn
  • QB Trey Lance

Mighty cadaver I fear tha this fanbase (prodded by sports experts) spends way too much time commiserating over 2nd- and 3rd-rate talents. Thus we play like 3rd-rate teams.

  • WR Jonathan Mingo
  • RB Deuce Vaughn
  • QB Trey Lance
No, no and no.
The only reason to see these 3 scrubs is to showcase them and get draft picks, albeit 5th and 6th round picks.
I could see Vaughn draw interest from Midwest teams (Kansas State alum), but at 5'5'' he's a tough sell.

I guess we dont see enough of some bad players so we just want to make sure they are bad?

I dont know. are we show casing for the next HC? are we saying, hey guys, these three dont move the game either way sooooooo lets play them for their next careers? Maybe Flournoy has a chance but hes not doing anything for us this season, so?

none of this makes sense unless your agenda is to say one of two things.

Jerry was awesome and lets look at these players that only Jerry would have on his team.

OR

we already know these guys dont have superstar talent, but lets evaluate if they will even be on the roster next year.

the only other objective is that the writer had to submit an article with a certain amount of words.

nothing else makes football, or a winning sense. it strengthens the mediocrity culture we have, but im sure our fans already discovered that after 30 years. i hope.

Man...if Jerry doesn't show us Lance it will be a bigger bust than Lance busting.
At this point I wonder if Jerry is legitimately afraid for everybody to see how truly bad Lance may be in a regular season game......it would potentially further the existing narrative that giving away a 4th for him was foolish
