3 Cowboys players we'd like to see more of in the final 3 regular-season games

We saw Lance in the last PS game throw 5 picks. Seen enough
Saw Goff throw 5 the other nite
Seen Stafford, Flacco & R.Wilson throw 5
Romo i believe also
.... 4 pik games
G.Blanda had 22, T.Brady 6

Its the nfl....it happens

Lance also had 350 yds passing, close to 100 yards rushing the same game.

Rumors of Dak being virtully imobile on return, he was glacier even before....he wont be even able to panic & roll out into a sack

At this point I wonder if Jerry is legitimately afraid for everybody to see how truly bad Lance may be in a regular season game......it would potentially further the existing narrative that giving away a 4th for him was foolish
Agreed. But hiding him is exactly the same thing. Surely we can design a "safe" plan for him to not be too exposed.

Yes...thank you. That was a seriously dumb comment by Aven.

I don't need to see Trey Lance. I've seen enough. He is not the answer to any questions I have in 2025.

I definitely want to see more Flournoy, more Luepke, more Schoonmaker, and more Justin Rogers now that the re-acquired him. Get as many questions answered as possible in the next 3 games.
Nobody is saying is the answer to anything. We actually don't have ANY answer at QB at all right now.

Yes it's the coaches fault. He is misused. Along with several players McCarthy has failed.
We have certainly mis-used & failed players in the past but given what Vaughn has shown when given the opportunity, I tend to think the player just isn't cut out for the NFL.

Serious question, why does anyone get that worked up about 5 picks in the last preseason game?

There is a time to be concerned & a time to take things with a grain of salt. 2nd half of that game he's playing with a rotating cast of guys who got sent home the next day. He also played almost as many snaps in that one game as the other two games combined. And put up over 400 yards of offense.

None of us know what he would do with the starters, good or bad. But the interceptions in that last game wouldn't impact my decision about playing him at all if I were the coach.

Here are 3 more perfect examples of how McCarthy has failed the Cowboys. His mismanagement of players is mind boggling to me. I doubt any of these 3 see any playing time because the Cowboys stupidly still think they have a chance for the playoffs. At this point I only expect Mingo to return in 2025.

There may still be three games remaining on the 2024 NFL regular-season schedule, but the Dallas Cowboys really have nothing left to play for. Any hope of reaching the postseason is dead. What they need to do now is start focusing more on the future.

There are still a lot of questions that need to be answered before they can jump entirely into offseason mode, the first and foremost is whether or not Mike McCarthy is worthy of sticking around. Beyond that it comes down to evaluating this roster with an eye on the future.

With that in mind, we would like to see the Dallas Cowboys take full advantage of the final three games remaining this year. By that we mean getting a few players more involved to get a jumpstart on the evaluation process for next year and beyond.
  • WR Jonathan Mingo
  • RB Deuce Vaughn
  • QB Trey Lance

I'd like to see Mountaineer at QB, Coogi at OL and Bob at GM.

He has no accuracy. The only thing he can do is run. He’s Vince Young. Silly to even debate about it.

Dallas is likely eliminated Sunday.

Lance should get the call the last two games.
Jerrah would rather hide Lance than to give more evidence of how he was the only idiot in the NFL willing to give up a 4th for him. Then he turns around the next year with Mingo lol. Can't make this crap up. No money to sign free agents they say so let's give up 4th round picks to players who can't play.

How many times in NFL history has a team decided they needed more looks at a RB whose first 44 carries resulted in a 2.1 yards average with as total of 0 TD's?
Oh so throwing Deuce out there to run plays not designed for him is suddenly what he is supposed to be judged on? Random carries throughout the season doesn't mean anything. He has been so mismanaged that at this point it's beyond ridiculous.

What opportunity did he get?
In fairness though, that was before they got any blocking occuring so perhaps behind the current OL his size is less an issue & the perception changes. He does have juice. Give him some creases & I think he can be productive.

Ok, you've talked me into it. I wanna see him behind this line!!

Agree with Mingo but Vaughn and Lance look like lost causes. I’d also like to see more of Brooks and Flournoy. More spann-ford as well. Some of these younger receivers can make guys like cooks and Ferguson expendable.

Who is we?

Good stuff. I agree that keeping them in the closet isn't any way to reach useful conclusions as to their status. At least give them enough activity to get a reasonably useful handle as to what to do with them. It greatly benefits both the coaches and the players, themselves. It's reasonable to say that we have nothing to lose and everything to gain.

At this juncture, there's no real excuse for wasting time. Finding out what to do with them in the future is an all-important way to handle this team's ongoing business. Using this team's players to best advantage is a crucial need for the future well-being of the team as a whole. Get 'em active, ASAP. If just one of them is successful, the time and trouble involved would have been well worth it.
Maybe they don't want to advertise him, so they can resign him. They see him in practice

I don't need to see more Deuce Vaughn or Trey Lance. Deuce was a nepotism pick and Lance is an UFA next year. Why let him audition ? Id rather see Will Grier and give him chance to develop.
