3 qbs on the 53?

It was hard to do the 53 with 2qbs. I take it that they now will have 3 qbs on the 53 with the Lance acquisition.

Maybe that's a sign that they are going to let Dak do what he does best. Run the ball.

The NFL implemented a revised third quarterback rule for the 2023 NFL season in response to the 49ers sustaining injuries to both of their active quarterbacks in the NFC Championship Game.[4] The third quarterback can be placed on an inactive roster spot where he would not use a spot on the 53 player active roster. The 3rd QB DOES take a spot on the 53 man total roster but NOT on the 46 man game day roster....so you can now have 47 active of yr 53 instead of 46

One hour and 30 minutes prior to kickoff, each club is required to establish its Active List for the game by notifying the Referee of the players on its Inactive List for that game. Each club may also designate one emergency third quarterback from its 53-player Active/Inactive List (i.e., elevated players are not eligible for designation) who will be eligible to be activated during the game, if the club's first two quarterbacks on its game day Active List are not able to participate in the game due to injury or disqualification (activation cannot be a result of a head coach's in-game decision to remove a player from the game due to performance or conduct). If either of the injured quarterbacks is cleared by the medical staff to return to play, the emergency third quarterback must be removed from the game and is not permitted to continue to play quarterback or any other position, but is eligible to return to the game to play quarterback if another emergency third quarterback situation arises.
A club is not eligible to use these procedures if it carries three quarterbacks on its game day Active List [47- or 48-players in 2023].

I doubt he would clear waivers. Plus, if Dak went down with any injury right away--even if just for 2-3 weeks--we wold need Rush for sure.

Let's hope not. I'm hoping for emergency QB. If we take 3 QBs into games that just depletes resources in other areas. I'm curious and excited about what he can do but not at the expense of putting us at a disadvantage. I'm hoping to see Trey play extended time in next year's preseason games. Other than that we got some injuries going on or we're screwing ourselves on gameday.

Exactly, I don't want to sit Bell or Land so Lance can get game reps in or some gadget plays. I'm excited he's here but let's wait till next preseason to see what he can.

They will take 3 into games. 2 on the roster and the emergency qb. The question is the 53 man roster on cut day.

They are going to be cutting players that aren't scrubs. This is their best roster in decades.
