We say that every year....they can't cut this guy or that guy....and they do...and nothing happens. They make it to the PS. Only rarely does it not happen. They are going to be cutting players that aren't scrubs. This is their best roster in decades.
For example, everyone has been projecting we keep 6 WRs. That means the 6th is either Simi Fehoko or Jalen Brooks. Is it really the end of the world if we lose one or both of them? We still have guys like Dennis Houston, Jalen Moreno-Cropper, Dontario Drummond and even Durden for next year. Likelihood is that if we let Fehoko and Brooks go that one of them still makes the PS. It isn't a big deal.
On the OL...we are going to keep 9 most likely. After the starting 5, I'd keep Richards for sure. Ball has actually played well at G. Probably keeping Farniok since he is the only real C backup. After that, does it really matter that much if we risk Waletzko, Edoga, Bostick, Hoffman, etc? Some of those guys will be back on the PS.lly be bad if we
At LB...we have Vander Esch and Clark as starters. Cox and Harper probably the backups. Would it really be awful if we let a guy like Jefferson go? We can stash some similar guys on PS in case of injury. Possibly including Land, unless they count him as DE.
At corner, we have Diggs, Gilmore, Bland, Lewis, and Eric Scott. Can we really not afford to lose a Joseph, or a Wright?
Safety, I know a lot want to keep Juanyeh Thomas, who looked good wk 1 of preseason but like crap in week 2. But we have Hooke, Wilson, Kearse, Bell, and Mukuamu before even thinking about Thomas.
So there are at least 5 guys that are easily cuttable.
