3 rebuilds, 3 Super Bowls, while Dallas twiddles its thumbs in the dark

Those damn Eagles just did it yet again.

Andy Reid built a team with Donovan McNabb and a dominant defense went to the Super Bowl and ruled the division for a good while.

Then it was torn down.

Then Doug Pederson, Carson Wentz, and Nick Foles combined with a stellar defense and beat the mighty Patriots for the Eagles first championship.

Then that was torn down.

Now Nick Siriani, Jalen Hurts, and another stifling defense is in place with a very young roster, and they're headed to a third Super Bowl in 20 years. This group looks to be around for a long, long time, too, and they have a top10 pick waiting in April.

Meanwhile, Dallas continues to fart and fall down every offseason, no longer willing to go after anyone of significance in offseason free agency. It's either the offense is stacked with talent and the defense is a turnstile, or the defense is fairly stout but the offense can't block or lacks weapons.

The Eagles made key offseason moves, and it's paying off. Last year, the Rams did the same and won a Super Bowl. The year before, Tampa did the same and won a Super Bowl with Brady.

Philly now owns this division clearly, and here we are a big pile of gunk that isn't going anywhere anytime soon with this lot.

It's going to take a magical offseason of free agent moves to get this thing tuned for anything of significance going forward. That's hard with limited cap space, a middling QB making $49 million, and a list of players needing new deals. Pollard, CeeDee, Diggs, Micah, and a list of others.

Anything short of some huge signings - and I'm talking about Aaron Rodgers, Daron Payne, DeAndre Hopkins, Javon Hargrave type guys - and this will remain an effort in futitility.

They need to either go for it or blow it up. Because hope isn't a strategy, no matter how much they wish it was.
Credit to you for clear headed thinking.

Why change?

ESPN will spend more time today talking about the Cowboys than either championship game.

The Pro Shop will be full of sheep in their jorts and stained Novachek jerseys buying up camo mugs, dog accessories, Charlotte-inspired lingerie for their misses.

Six months from now, said sheep will serenade this deranged man who has kept us in neutral for years with "JERRY! JERRY! JERRY!" chants as he woddles on to the field in Oxnard.

We are a disgrace but we allow it because we're a soft fanbase. Jerry has been allowed to treat this franchise like his personal toy for three decades. A fanbase like Philly would have ran him out a long time ago.
Classic post! This gave me a good laugh.

People are so dramatic. Eagles have a ton of free agents and coaches they are going to lose this off-season.

Don't forget this is 3 Super Bowls, 5 conference championships in 5 years for Jerry's neighbor, The Hunt Family. Jerry doesn't have to look far for motivation, he's getting outclassed by his fellow Dallas Country Club brethren. The man and his weak sons just don't care.

There are actually people in here celebrating that we beat a team going to the SB when they had their backup. They also beat us another game. Can’t wait for the new banner “2022-2023 Beat the Eagles Once and they are in the Super Bowl.” Hang it proudly from the rafters

However, Stephen is more about being rich Jethro Clampett and protecting the family fortune than he is about winning championships.
the $ they spend on the team is a set amount, you know the cap!
So whatever they do in FA etc, has to be within the cap and has no effect on how much they make off the team each year.

As long as the home games are mostly full, they cant lose.

And they have a GM that actually knows what he's doing. I doubt the Eagles lose a beat. They've been so far ahead of us this century it's sickening.

It's literally been back and forth and we have a winning record vs them but ok.

To win a 4-team division. Big deal.

The Eagles have actually done things in the tournament of note. Multiple NFC championship games, 3 Super Bowl appearances, one championship and quite possibly another soon.

The Eagles matter in football. The Cowboys matter for TV ratings. Watching us crater is great sport for the national masses.

t is a very hard truth, taking the Eagles as an example, they selected a QB in the first round that didn't work, they changed it, they selected WR's in the first round, it didn't work and they let them go, but they continued in the search, now they have a very good QB that nobody gave anything for him, and some good WR's with DeVonta and AJ, a very good defense, they made good movements, trades, they made more first-round picks, they have done a very good job, they had the vision that no player is indispensable, and if you can get something good for someone, change it to have more picks, now they have a QB who in his second year took the team to the SB, and dallas with Dak has been going for 6 years and he doesn't go past the first or second round of playoffs, and so we see teams that take risks and are good teams.
Philadelphia has a very good and young team to compete for several years, at least to reach the SB two more times, and Dallas has young players but many are already be doing old, and there is simply a stagnation,
The stupidest thing that JJ has done is bet on Dak, and above all pay him that amount of money when he hadn't shown anything, it's pathetic.
