Teams do what?I'm not trying to justify anything. YOU...are.
All I am saying is teams do it...you even said so yourself. You arguing with YOURSELF? Weird.

Yup.Takes one to know one!
Well it's 8 months late but thanks for finally admitting what we all saw
Nothing silly about having lower expectations for a rookie making his first start vs a vet in his 9th year making more than anyone in NFL history
Teams go get rookie QB's. You are afraid to do it. Because "just not that easy".Teams do what?
I never said we shouldn't draft a QB.Teams go get rookie QB's. You are afraid to do it. Because "just not that easy".
Of course it ain;t easy....wow news flash? But teams STILL do it. Sometimes they even do it with a good QB on the roster. Sometimes forced to.
You even say here...teams do it. They don;t ALWAYS have to start....as someone reminded you on Mahomes. And how about Rodgers.
Be brave...draft a QB.
Fair enough. But bear in mind we didn't know we had a legit replacement for Romo. And we didn't know we had a legit replacement for Bledsoe. And we drafted Steve Walsh because we didn;t know Aikman.I never said we shouldn't draft a QB.
Go ahead and draft a QB if there's one that you love. Get him some reps in camp/preseason and let him show what he can do.
If he looks great, then you can potentially trade Dak and start over with a young stud on a CHEAP rookie deal.
If he doesn't look great, you still have a damn good QB in Dak.
That's all well and good.
Now tell me..... what sense would it make for the Cowboys to get rid of Dak BEFORE finding our next QB???
The amount of rookie QBs starting these days would...SEEM...to support that. Not sure who said its easier than ever to find QB's these days but I understand the comment. In a league where real defense has been watered down and not being able to touch a QB without drawing a flag. It's considerably easier for rookie QB's to adjust in todays NFL then that of the past imo. The league heavily favors the offense and wants high scoring games.
I can't argue this point. Dak could be making a bag of BBQ potato chips per game, and we'd still ignore free agency. Were we spending big when Dak was on a cheap rookie deal? Nope.
Dak's extension actually lowered his cap hit. I saw somewhere that we'll have the 12th-most cap space in the NFL next season.
Fair enoughI don't know if you're confusing me with someone else, but I've never made excuses for Dak's terrible play in that game.
He was beyond atrocious in the 1st half. Totally fair to say he choked.
Don't forget Dak lighting up the league as a rookie as well.I think some don't realize how hard it is to get a competent QB in the draft, especially when the team is bad.
For some recently drafted QB's, they will have gone from a top CFB team to a bad NFL team. It's going to be a huge learning curve all around. One week won't define them, but it definitely is a smack in the face saying, "welcome to the NFL".
The Burrows lighting up the league as a rookie is rare as hell to see.
