4/15 Draft Thoughts

You are a glutton for punishment. You know the old man is gonna do something on draft night for attention.

The smart thing to do since the draft is strong with second/third round players is to trade back acquire more 2nd day picks and get 4-5 good prospects. Defensive and offensive players. The Cowboys need to rebuild.

Something is up with Bain and to me it’s more than the short arms or the car accident.
Gotta be more to the Bain story...

Gotta be more to the Bain story...
They didn't check for dui at 4 thirty in the morning during spring break. They dropped charges. A person died in his car. It didn't seem to bother him on the field, but you would worry about his judgment and driving ability. It’s a red flag.

It sounds like we are out based on our analysts.
I’m not so sure… although they could be for sure.

I just kind of want more than a few draft guys saying they think we’re out.

I think his lack of length would have more to do with Dallas not drafting him than a dropped citation.

Could be...I could realistically see him being there so hope he is at least considered.

She was the only one not wearing a seatbelt. I'm sure that had something to do with how it all played out. And thre familuy's reaction.

Trading up from #12 to get a safety #1 doesn't make a lot of sense when you have #2 and #3 probably available at #20 or even lower.

They could trade down a few picks from the #12 and get another day #2 pick while still picking up a top Edge and safety in the first round.

- Caleb Downs / Jeremiah Love are my top 2 players in the class. I see ZERO bust potential and you can flip a coin on you have at 1.
- When it rains it pours...the Cowboys have 2 1st round picks and we end with a really poor class at the top and we likely just removed 2 more players from our board in Bain and McCoy.
- If the above is true I think honing in on the big 4 and locking in on a trade up is a horrible idea. We are not 1 player away and need more darts to help fix our defense. I would rather trade down.
- There is a possibility Bain is there at 12 and we pass on in him for "scheme fit." I have been vocal on him being overrated in this class but I think at 12 you turn the card in considering what else will be available.
- I am at the point where offense should be on the table in round 1. If someone like Love / Mauignoa are available there is a chance they are about 10 slots higher than who the Cowboys may be considering. I am the most anti RB in round person you will find but this class has us handcuffed.
- CP has talked about the importance of stoping the run and how if you can do it with your front 4/7 and keep your safeties back it significantly helps your secondary. Dont be surprised if we do something like Faulk / Allen in round 1. High floor players that may not be great value but are dogs against the run and are safe.
Who does Faulk replace base and nickel?
