4-3 defense

I prefer the 3-4 over the 4-3 and I feel that Ware is far better suited as a 3-4 OLB than a 4-3 DE. He rushes the passer much better standing up than with his hand in the dirt. That being said, I'd run a 1-1-9 if it would work. I'm not sure why the 4-3 would help since the corners either can't cover or mess up their assignments. Maybe the pass rush would be a little better, but I'm not exactly sure about that.

First of all, alien.....i was just razzin ya....dont get so uptight....hehehe

Second, Nors, no one is throwing away anything. We are merely discussing our defensive personell and whether or not we have what it takes to play either scheme. Besides, since we are just fans, it doesn't mean diddly squat what we feel. Wade and Jerry are the two that make that decision.

Third, this thread has turned into a nice little debate. Usually threads I start, Die Hard like German Terrorists named Hans.....but this one has had a nice little run so far......thanks guys

I still like my alignment best, cause it gets our best players on the field at one time. BTW, why is Ware too small to play DE in the 4-3? Freeney is small, Suggs is small, Dumervil is small, and there are some others. The 4-3 is the perfect alignment for the smaller DEs to rush the passer....otherwise they would have to become OLB in the 3-4.

All of those guys you mention are notorious for being able to run on. Suggs, Dumervil and Freeney would be just as effective, if not more, as 3-4 OLB.

In fact, Suggs was a 3-4 OLB when the Ravens played the 3-4.
