4 Huge Concerns

We might've been the most predictable we have ever been last year.

Teams just couldn't stop our run game.

The guy everyone wants to hate on averaged 7 yards per carry and everyone knew he was getting the ball when he was in the game.

Let me go one level deeper.

Knowing were going to run and not being able to stop it is one thing. Knowing we're going to pass out of any particular set is a completely different story. We did an excellent job last year disguising the pass with creative formations, personnel groupings, and simply keeping Demarco on the field for passing downs as well. I fear this year, with regard to our ability to disguise the pass, will be different. Make no mistake about it... we should always make every effort to disguise the pass and mix it up on 1st & 2nd downs.

RB is definitely a concern because I didn't see anything from McFadden or Randle that's made me feel any better about the RB situation. I'm not sure Randle can even block effectively. I posted a video clip of him his rookie year missing a block that could have gotten Romo knocked out. Yesterday he missed a block resulting in a holding call.

Excellent insight. Thoughts conveyed to a completely different depth level. The kind of thoughts that have worried me since the end of the Demarco era in Dallas. Lord... I just hope we don't return to predictability. Any return of the like will significantly increase the chance of Romo not lasting a full season. I could go into further detail but I know we're all knowledgeable to the matter that lies between the lines. Hoping and praying this season eclipses all of our expectations in terms of team success.

And just when they think McFadden is in for a passing down, he will take a draw up the middle for a 70 yard td run.

We may be slightly more predictable then having one back, but anyone thinking we will BE predictable is just being paranoid. Both randle and McFadden can run the ball and catch the ball. If randle has blocking issues they can help him.

If they don't sign a veteran at cut downs I will be more concerned.

My concern is the cost of beers at games here in the NYC area. It's getting outta control! I was at Yankee Stadium on Saturday. The standard price was $12 for a beer and if I wanted Becks, its was $15!

This is very alarming news.....................disturbing one might say.....

Knowing they were going to run or not. Dez bryant was on the field. Murray wasnt running through 9 men in the box. When they stacked, bryant was standing down field waiting for the ball.

Predictability is something im just used to by now with a Jason Garrett team.. We've never tried to fool anyone or mask what we're doing.

You put Dunbar in the game it's a zone or toss so on a so forth.

If Dallas becomes that predictable then they need to fire their coaches.

I've never seen a team become completely predictable with everything they do because of their RB's.

If that happens to Dallas then people need to lose their jobs.

Even if they do sign a veteran doubt they'll come up with anyone that will be better than what they have. A move needed to be made a lot sooner to better the situation. Once you set sail this deep into the summer all that's left is scraps barring a trade and we might not come up with much there.

I don't think we have any running back that can do everything and do everything well. We lost that "Swiss Army Knife" capability when Demarco left.

We will have to see. I'm not sure I agree.

At this time of the year you'll be getting a cast off. The opportunity to get a quality back came and went months ago with free agency and the draft.

And here lies a problem. So when McFadden comes in, teams will be dialed in to the pass, knowing Randle is not going to pass block. We become predictable like we were in the past. Randle in the game, most likely a run so they stack the line.

Those who scoff at Murray and think it's just the OL will be in for a rude awakening this season. Randle and McFadden aren't even close to Murray.

Playing devil's advocate, last season, the Cowboys ran packages where they had 1 WR, with Dwayne Harris on the field, and two WR sets with Devin Street and Dwayne Harris together at WR. I can't recall a single time in those formations where the Cowboys threw the football.

If plays are executed correctly, it doesn't matter whether one RB who is a better pass protector is on the field or not. I do have some concerns over Randle's ability to pass protect effectively, and for McFadden to actually run effectively, but the opposition last season knew pretty well what the Cowboys would run from down to down, and they still had a hard time stopping it.

Fair enough. I'll remain hopeful until proven otherwise. Hopeful to me isn't shouting CHAMPIONSHIP from the mountain tops though.

  1. Ahmad Bradshaw (if healthy he's a beast)
  2. Pierre Thomas
  3. Tre Mason via trade (love this guy)
  4. Jarryd Hayne (lol.. seriously though this guy has crazy potential and reminds me of Demarco the way he hits the hole)
  5. Mike Davis (if San Fran doesn't keep him he should definitely be considered. Great former Gamecock. Tough, smart, great vision. Just what we need)
Go Gamecocks

Never heard of them. An injured player, a nobody, in love, seriously? lol

The Cowboys are going to have to let a lot of good football players go. They could make a trade with Minny?
