4 More Years of Cowboys vs. Eli

He'll be 39 when this contract expires. At 21/per that's a heavy price for an old guy with his limited talents. Looks like the Egals will be our competition for years to come.

Pretty funny how much of the talk before OBJ started getting 20 targets/game was about moving on from Eli. He's been a turnover machine for a very bad team, but they figured they would extend him until that age at that rate. I guess a market deficiency at QB scared them.

Maybe the Giants are trying to help us out, you think ?

Off-topic (not really): College economics. Should it be a mandatory core high school curriculum course? Discuss.

Do you mean a college level economics class, or the economics of going to college? If it's the former, and it becomes mandatory in high school...it's not college economics anymore.

The former and technically you're correct.

This is excellent news, Eli's been terrible the past couple seasons.

I still can't believe that guy won two Super Bowls. Granted those one playoffs he played very well.. but outside that except when he plays us he's always looked like garbage.
Just think about this, Romo's worst year of QB rating was 90.5... Eli's BEST year was 93.1, only a 2.6 difference between Romo's worst year and Eli's BEST year. He's thrown for over 20 interceptions... three times. I know stats don't show the whole picture and are only a number... but geez, I am completely dumbfounded how this guy has been super bowl MVP twice.

I mean... just look at the other guy involved in that trade between the Giants and Chargers; Philip Rivers has had 4 years with over 100 QB rating. Manning's carrer average QB rating: 82.4... Rivers worst year: 82.4. To me Rivers is by far the better player, but his team hasn't really done anything. I guess it really is a team game, that's for sure.

Sorry for the semi-rant... It just bottles my mind sometimes thinking about it. I will give the guy credit for being tough and not missing games, he gets some major respect points for that... but other than that... nothing.

I agree which is why I don't consider Eli elite. He has played very well at times but he also has season where he has looked like a JAG. Some try to say he did not have this player or that player as a reason for the bad seasons yet act as if he is the sole reason they have won 2 SB. Elite players bring in year in an year out not here and there.

When a player has a really good defense, or great DL is probably more accurate, it can cover up for those issues. If you swap the DL the Giants had with the one the Cowboys had during those years he still has zero SBs. Just goes to show how much of a team sport this really is. Guys like Brad Johnson and Trent Dilfer can win a SB and guys like Rex Grossman and Kaepernick can get to one.

Eli Manning is the perfect example of why the Romo haters are full of crap. He lucked into the first SB with the helmet play; and did not a whole lot more in the second SB. Both times it was the D of the Giants that really won those rings.

Yet the Romo haters refuse to judge Eli by the same criteria, proving their hypocrisy.

Glad the Giants kept him; now they are truly stuck for years.
