Penalties are killing us, pure and simple. Players are coached not to commit penalties, but it seems like there is little accountability in the Cowboys organization. We keep playing the same guys who are making the same mistakes over and over because we don't really have much choice. Lack of any quality depth is hurting us.

So my question is, what do we do? Do we bench the habitual offenders and maybe lose more games than we otherwise would or try to play with a bunch of stupid players hoping physical talent will overcome stupidity?

If we fix the penalty issues and take care of the ball we are as good or better than any team out there in my opinion.

It has more to do with Wades coaching style; he does not like to change starters a lot he stated that in the past; he does not liek to churn the bottom of the roster liek Jimmy, wade or many other places.

He sticks to what he has that is what he does; it is not always about depth but also about the headcoach

That and penalties have consistently had almost zero correlation to winning and losing in the NFL, whereas turnover differential consistently has a strong correlation to winning and losing in the NFL.

The big problem we have, probably bigger than Romo's inconsistencies and regression (to whatever degree he has regressed) is the safety play. We have had ONE pick from ALL OF OUR SAFETIES in the LAST 27 GAMES. This should be downright alarming to somebody in the organization and the local media, yet I'm the only one that researched this and brought it up.

Approximately 75% of the league's turnovers come from the QB position, be it a strip fumble or an interception. If you can't get your safties to make interceptions, you're going to lose the turnover battle more often than not.

I knew our safety play was a problem but I didn't know your factoid by any stretch of the imagination. Good find.

Our DBs in general aren't good at INTs. One reason is they are taught to not find turn and find the ball. They read the WR. That's on Campo and should be on Wade as well. He should be looking for ways to create TOs. We also do not strip the ball which is a mistake IMO.

Wade needs to be more interventional with his coaches. But that's just a guess. How do we know what's said coach to coach. He may agree with their DB schemes and how they approach defending the pass. That's something I'd like to hear from our mediots. Why can't they ask questions like that or is that taboo to ask?
