45 million?

Williams was traded to the Dallas Cowboys on October 14, 2008 for first, third and sixth round picks in the 2009 NFL Draft (the Cowboys also received a seventh round pick from the Lions in the 2010 draft). He was then signed to a new contract through the 2014 season; Roy Williams agreed to a 6 year, $54 million contract, along with $26 million guaranteed.[3][4] In his first season with the Cowboys, Williams started seven games, caught 19 passes for 198 yards and one touchdown

I thought it was 45 million dollar contract. Smh if this is accurate.

With Miles Austin being our no. 1 receiver, I believe Roy Williams take a pay cut or just get traded to another team.

Im sure this has been brought up a thousand times before but my 2 cents. The guy roy reminds me of is plax (without the off field baggage). a tall , talented , athletic wr , allot of drops ,allot of stiff bad body language a large contract and a huge target of fan hate . There cumulative 1st 5 year stats are extremely similar as well.

I remember when the giants signed plax for no 1 wr money i was laughing at my giants fans friends telling them all he is a 2 , gloating every time he quit on a route. or dropped a pass . it seemed like every game espn would show a hight light of the giants game they would zero in on Plax and show what he didn't do like after a Eli pick just giving up on the play and watching the defender return the int. The media and fans would just bash him. But then all of a sudden everything just clicked , the giants started using him in spots like the goal line where his height is such a advantage , and then on deeper routes he looked unstoppable and he carried his team in the playoffs and to a super bowl. (Ok yeah i know there defense carried them to the super bowl and the refs never calling a penalty on them also helped them win especially vs us) but hopefully you get my point and don't quit on roy just yet because it was right around the same age that plax went from bust to star and the giants haven't been the same since he's been gone.

and there is my Believe! moment for the day)

If he didn't make such dumb comments and excuses all the time I wouldn't dislike him quite as much.

I'm coachable. I didn't know the playbook. My foot was hurt. The lights got in my eyes. Romo throws better balls to the other receivers. I'm the number 1, I've done it everywhere else I've gone.

If 81 had made comments like this, he wouldve been crucified. So in the grand scheme, Roy has gotten a pass especialy considering he's made more excuses than game changing plays.

Exactly.

Cannot really argue with that.

And I am one of his biggest supporters.

26 million guaranteed? You'd think he's being paid by the drop. What a HORRIBLE return on investment. Thanks Jerry.

it isn't your money so why do you care?

i think next year roy could be a 1,000 yard receiver, especially with the rb's getting better, a retooled o line..and miles austin coming into his own...he would be the last thing teams will worry about, that will get him some yards

Obsession is not just a cologne.

I wonder if spreading it on the butt can stop the hurt.

This post is a little bit disturbing. Accurate, but disturbing nonetheless.

Spot on.

If it isn't one thing, it's another.

Wouldn't be the first time Jerry has signed someone and gotten burned. ..or the second, third or forth time.

Since he was about the only one willing to spit on the Saint's last week I think anyone criticising that is a true moron.

You act like it was your money, it was Jerry's money.

But it would be money used to invest in more productive free agents.

If we can RW after this season, we're gonna eat almost $18 mil in dead money.

Spit on them?

It's not your money. So why do you care how much he spent? It's not going to screw up the cap or anything like that. I have to laugh at people that get mad about someone spending their own money the way they want. It's silly. But it sure does make for a good rant.

we have never lost a player due to money nor failed to get the guy we wanted because of money, that is not the way Jerry rolls. If he wants you, he gets you.

YAY!!! for a positive thinking fan.

The guy has struggled but has been a total homer the entire time. Blocking down the field in the running game like a star and giving major effort even after his ribs were smashed in during the Denver game.

No probs with Roy. He loves the Cowboys and will turn out to be a star that all the scum-sucking nay sayers will cheer for before it's over.:)

BS.

If he caught more balls you wouldn't dislike him as much.

PS.

And you won't when he does.
