Just wait till the Saints come to town....

After that, if the Texans have a winning record, they will make the Saints/49ers games look like nothing.

I warned you guys 2 years ago that apathy was growing at a rapid pace in the DFW area. I was told to shut up and looking at the Forbes list.

Jerry was so focused on the game that he missed all of this red?

I wonder if Ticketmaster, StubHub, etc., releases resell ticket data? That would be very relevant. The data would "somewhat" determine the ratio of Cowboys fans who resold their season tickets for the game--as opposed to the number of first-run tickets not originally purchased by Cowboys fans and subsequently bought by 49ers fans. The latter assumption would preclude a much more apathetic motivation.

If significant numbers of Cowboys fans are not hustling to buy non-season tickets when the franchise originally puts them up for sell, it is clear dissatisfaction with the overall product. Observing the attending crowds' colors during the next seven home games shall more clearly indicate the accuracy of this hypothesis. In other words, the more games with a majority of non-silver and blue colors shall prove customer dissatisfaction is high.

On the other hand, the former assumption may combine an economic element with a degree of apathy. Regardless whether Cowboys fans or other team fans are sitting their butts in them, season tickets are essentially pre-purchase seats. The investment is already made. Without question, apathy plays a factor here as well, but not to the degree associated with the first assumption. In effect, season ticket holders were committed to attending games, decided attending the game was not pleasurable, but not to the degree preventing the recoup and profit from their original investment allotted for the game.

It would have been really interesting to see visibly empty seats, somewhat indicative of season ticket holders not reselling their tickets. Empty seats would have been a tangible sign that season ticket holder satisfaction was running high for week 1. Such a sight would be more damaging to Jerry Jones' marketing strategy to entice potential buyers in purchasing season ticket packages in the future. Oh well. Jones has already been paid. From a marketing perspective, the continued projection of filled seats will attract new season ticket buyers than dissuade them in the future.

I wish I had asked the 49er fans, sitting ALL around me at the game, whether they bought tickets at face value or resell price. It would have allowed me to formulate a generalization of whether 49er fans jumped on first-run tickets or hit Stubhub for previously purchased tickets. Maybe thinking about it would have stopped me for yelling "You have a first round pick at tackle, center and guard. RUN. THE. *******. BALL!" as often as I did. :(

I heard ticket prices are in the upper 100s. Is that true?

Yeah but opening day? It was a disgrace. Later in the season maybe it would be more acceptable, but opening day? Embarrassing and disgraceful.

It is embarrassing. I was there with a friend and we were both cheering and everyone else in our section was sitting down and looking at us like we were the idiots. That is what Jerry has done to the fan base here. They have nothing to cheer for anymore. It's sad.

I will answer that for you. Hell no they didn't buy their tickets at face value. I'm a season ticket holder that sold my tickets and made a mint on them too. For a season ticket holder with good seats it comes down to spending the money to go watch the game, or sell them to someone and make hundreds. With the product on the field right now, I would rather make hundreds on the tickets and watch from home. By the looks of it, that is going to be a long time. I had a friend who invited me to the 49'ers game and our crowed was a joke.

lol

1. That is only your opinion.
2. Both you and I have zero knowledge of how others sitting around me in section 219 purchased their tickets.
3. Your reality is not exclusively shared by other people.
4. I hope you make a killing by reselling your season tickets but a filled seat does little to prompt the franchise in moderating the onfield product. On the other hand, empty seats, which cannot be re-purchased, may have a more proactive effect. The only band in the color spectrum Jones sees is green, but empty seats look the same regardless of color.
5. Did you receive an invitation to a 49er versus Cowboys game in San Francisco? Just curious.

I have to disagree. I would like to think if I spent hundreds or thousands of dollars to travel to a game I could go without worrying about being beat up or spat on based on my team affiliation.

Philly has a bad reputation for a reason. It's because they are thugs.

They will both bring thousands. I don't doubt it could be as many as the Niner game.

Dude if you think think fans paid face value for seats in section 219 then I have some land to sell you. I have been a season ticket holder for years, I know what I'm talking about. With regards to empty seats, what is your point? Do you really think I'm going to pay for my seats and not sell them or go to the game? Only way that is happening is if Jerry himself agrees to pay double face value so I don't sell them. We both know that isn't happening. Jerry is getting just what he wants, a packed house. The results of the game doesn't matter as long as those seats are paid for.

Just looking at their schedules, Saints will be 3-0 when they come to Dallas. Their fan morale will be sky high so I expect them to buy even more tix than 49ers fans.

Texans is the one that is going to hurt Jerry's feelings b/c he knows about the bubbling rivalry btw Dallas vs. Houston in all aspects of life. They are going to be 2-1, maybe even 3-0 if they can beat the Giants on the road. If they are 3-0, we're looking at a disaster...they will have 60-65% fans and every newspaper in Texas will print about the shame of little brother taking over big brother. I really hope this happens b/c this is the one that is going to give Jerry the biggest wakeup call.

My hometown Falcons beat the Saints last Sunday. So they won't be undefeated but they are still a very good team. I think Bree's is great.

The Texans are improved. They can beat the Giants. They will be bringing thousands!

You're right, forgot they came back to win. In that case, it probably won't surpass the Niners. Probably something similar to the last time they came here.

Which was? I don't remember the last Saints game in Dallas. I do remember them getting spanked big time in NO.

If you look at last year, on a percentage of capacity on a straight attendance basis, Dallas was 1st in the league in terms of home attendance, 11th on the road, and 2nd overall:

I'm not sure I can express properly how repugnant I find this sentiment. Eagles fans are a blight on the NFL and should not be emulated in any way.

It's also not a war simulation. It's a football game. Sheesh.
