Is there even a waiting list in Dallas for tickets?

I always thought that was someplace you could get tickets anytime for any game. Mainly because the size of the stadium.

If you talk to the ticket people, they will tell you that they are 98% full (been saying that for five years now). But somehow, every single year I upgrade my seats, and there are plenty of options available.

That is just sickening. Watching visiting teams fans party in our house is just a kick in the gut to our franchise. What's worse, it seems the fans are more upset about this than Jerry is.

Said it in the 1st half thread and I'll say it here.

Dallas area cowboy fans are worthless

and they are nothing but a big bunch of fair weather front runners.

It was opening week and their stadium was overrun.

That's even before Tonys pickfest.

The whole thing from start to finish was a disgrace to the star.
What's a disgrace to the star are people who continue to support Jerry and his big night club, and he gives us nothing in return. This fool doesn't care about the fans so **** him. I'm ashamed to be a fan of this terrible organization, but I am, and I will be for life. But I'm not spending a dime on this crap until something huge changes.

I'm an out of town season ticket holder who just returned from the game. It was disgusting how not only 50% of the fans were in red but that all of them feel perfectly comfortable dancing up and down the aisle - no one seems to care. Being a east coast resident I'm used to skins, eagles, and giant crowds (and ravens for that matter) and I have to at least be respectful in my colors in an opposing team stadium or I'd be in a world of hurt. It's bad enough to travel 1,500 miles to see my team lay an egg, but to be humbled by obnoxious niner fans is too much to take.

I'd love to make sure my tickets go to silver and blue, if you have interest at any point in lower end zone seats, PM me.

We all better realize that a Cowboys game is not a game but a destination for opposing fans. If I live in Cleveland and I see the schedule and the Browns are in Dallas and I've save a grand for an away game do I want to go to Pittsburgh or Cincinnati?

Hell no, I'm going to Jerry World. The weathers nice, the fans are not Philly like, the stadium is awesome and I'll be with all my rowdy friends. The cat's out of the bag you guys. Word will spread and other fans will make it their go to game. The only out I see is Jerry instituting some kind of ticket package deal like San Diego does with the Raiders where you have to by two games.

If you're going to spend money to go to an away game. You'll go to a Cowboys game. The stadium is spectacular.

Also this can happen anywhere. Remember all the bad publicity generated by the Seahawks in the NFC Championship game when they restricted anyone with a California ID from buying a ticket to the game?

Exactly right. It's just a different time and home field advantage, especially in the sun belt, will never be like Buffalo or Philly or Cleveland with the secondary ticket market like it is.

That stadium is so big that I just always presumed the Cowboys were an easy ticket to get.

This is exactly what it is. I last went on the stadium tour a few years ago on a Saturday before we were playing the Giants. Most of the people on the tour were Giants fans that were very excited and enjoying themselves. Jerry built this giant spectacle and people want to come see it.

I just went on the stadium tour yesterday morning and it was mostly Niner fans there. And like you said, they were definitely enjoying themselves and had a blast running on the field

My main man @Idgit do you still think this is "normal"?

Let me remind you what you said pre-game....

Newsflash: opposing fans attend games. More of them will when there's not as much distance to travel. This is normal, and not a sign of the football apocalypse.

I still think it's normal, yes. Given the Niners have a large fan base and have been in the last three NFC championship games. And I still don't think it's a sign of the football apocalypse. Why do you think my opinion on that might have changed in the last three days?

b/c you made the comment pre-game before you saw that picture. nobody is saying it's the apocalypse, just admit it's shameful and embarrassing. why do you have to play the company man role every time?

Woah, now. I always think it's shameful for Cowboys fans to sell tickets to opposing fans. And that stadium shot was panned on the telecast, so I had seen it at the time I made that comment. That still doesn't mean it's the sign of the football apocalypse. My comment was aimed at your relative level of frustration at that moment which I thought (and think) was way over the top given the circumstances. Niners fans are going to be traveling like that on the road all season.

And, whatever you may think, I criticize the team a *lot.* You guys just don't notice it because I don't overreact even when I'm critical, and it tends to get washed out in whatever wave of emotional overreaction is cresting at the moment, but go back and review my post history, and you'll see more critical posts than you'd probably expect.

There's also a lot of times where I choose to say nothing because I refuse to contribute to what I consider to be mostly baseless buthurt negative speculation. Much of how our fans choose to overreact frankly embarrasses me on their behalf. One, because it's irrational in pitch. Two, because it's stuff that affects literally every other team in the league.

FWIW, I've also noticed that I approach other team's criticism the same way I approach Cowboys' criticism. For example, last week in the GB/SEA game thread, when people were saying the GB defense was trash, I was thinking 'It's not trash. They do have some issues they need to address, but a lot of teams do."

In short, I don't think I'm a company man so much as I'm just a lot more dispassionate than some posters are when I try to make my evaluations. I'm also relentless about pointing out emotionality or errors of reasoning and typically don't let an issue drop very easily once I engage on a topic. I think that lends to the impression that I'm always defending the team. But we've been 8-8 the last three years for a reason. Much of that can be most easily explained by our talent on defense, our ownership, our injuries, and our recent issues relative to the cap. It doesn't need to be the case that everything else is also wrong with the organization. In a league where most games are won or lost on a play or two, it's enough that only some things aren't good enough.

From what I understand it was a planned takeover. Last year was Charlotte. I know the 49ers don't travel that well all the time because I've seen them in Tampa. I actually think it's a cool idea for fan bases to plan stuff like this. The problem is I think they will all plan it around Cowboys stadium.

Haha... it was both. I think our fans are just tired of the same poor product on the field year after year. Jerry focuses more on entertainment and bringing in money than he does on the team. It's like a big circus there. Our fans have nothing to cheer about but the opposing teams fans do.

Yeah but opening day? It was a disgrace. Later in the season maybe it would be more acceptable, but opening day? Embarrassing and disgraceful.

Not sure but then when we played SF at their place there were a lot of Cowboy fans there.

It sure looked like a lot of Cowboys fans were there (on TV) the last time we played at SF. We won in OT IIRC on the Jesse Holly TD. The crowd was cheering very loudly.
