When the game first started Joe Buck mentioned how loud the stadium was. ...that shouldve let us know that there were alot of 49er fans there.

The stadium is always loud when the game starts, no matter who we're playing. It's around the second quarter where you can hear a pin drop in that place.

It's a joke.;)

yeah I mentioned it being funny. But did u know Austin Texas is a big gay city also.
I have a feeling the reason why so many of our opponent's fans are at the home games is because our stadium is so nice that people are willing to travel from all over the country to experience it. Also because we're the most popular team. And specifically this week, because the 49ers have such a large fan base.

I have that feeling. Nice state of the art stadium....will travel

Wish I could think of a solution to this problem.

Reading a lot of fans here acting like this team has been 3-13 the last few seasons instead of playing for the division. Consistently 8-8 is not a garbage product. No support when they're bad. No support when they're average. I know fair-weather when I see it.

The local fan base is basically just like Romo. They're not game ready until a month into the season, they're good for botching a few games every year, and they fall apart in December.

Any other town with support like this and the team would have moved to Los Angeles by now.

State Capital...oh, you bet.

Suppose one is also a Longhorn antagonist as well?

I didn't even think about the Longhorns but as a matter of fact....I'm a Horned Frog Alum. Go Frogs 1

Or Arlington.

The Cowboys are hugely supported. Largest fan base in the NFL. For many years. Poll after poll.

Hey, I can buy the entire trip...based upon TCU. They came alive again, over the past decade. Keep that loyalty, for sure.

I played at USAFA and Texas A&I - go Javelinas!

What's a Javelina? It sounds scary anyway. Google time.

Never mind! A little hairy pig.

I didn't like all the SF jerseys either but, being a native of Texas, I can tell you, we have a lot of California transplants here. Some from LA, Oakland and yes, even the beloved SF. I don't know why some of you act like SF is any more relevant than our Cowboys. It's been 20 years since they've won a Super Bowl and 19 for us. Unless all of you are okay with moral victories such as "We made it to the playoffs! We're totally valid now!" Ummm, no. The measure for success in the NFL is winning Super Bowls. Trophy's and Rings, boys and girls.

Did fans already give up on the season?

Or was it a chance to pay for their season tickets?
Pay for season tickets. Oh and lots of bandwagon Niner fans. Cowboys fans used to fill Candlestick park and do the same to them. These tour companies make offers that is hard to turn down.

I guarantee you if the Niners weren't that good, their fans would not be out there.

Yea that's scary looking. Javelinas definitely represent in the dental dept.

A wild boar's razor-sharp tusks can snap a man's leg right off, their necks are so powerful. A javelina, can leave a nasty reminder...and in a group, be a challenge.

Is this really new?

Of course if you live in a place where the team you like only comes once every 3 or 4 years you are going to show up in huge numbers when they come to town. This happens every time a good team comes to Arlington. This is that fan's Super Bowl. Sucks when the fan base has lots of transplants so then everybody gets the same idea and we see something like today, but that's just how it's always going to shake out in the modern NFL.

Chicago Bears are going to have a sea of orange

Packers sea of Green

Steelers sea of yellow..

etc….

It's silly for Cowboys fans from other states to bash the guys who live here and let photos like the above paint a picture that the local fan base doesn't care. Like someone said, this is a place that people fly in from around the world to see. So the Star is nothing more than a tourist attraction than a place to rally up and watch a football game. Local people have already figured out it's better to watch from at home or at a bar than in that venue.

Agreed.

The NFL is entertainment, plain and simple. The novelty of it plays a big part.
AT&T stadium is a palace -- even has world-class art; the tour is impressive.
Any sports fan would be impressed, if they've never been.

This whole scenario is not illogical or unpredictable.

Realize that Cowboys Stadium isn't a great place to watch a sporting event. Mainly because of Jumbo Jerrytron. I've been to a couple of games, including the Packers/Steelers Super Bowl. I've been there for basketball. I end up spending the entire time watching the action on the big screen. As expensive as it is, I'd rather watch the games at home. I have a 60' HD screen and a very comfortable couch/chair. I'd rather watch mine than Jerry's. My food and beverage is much more affordable. The common fan is priced out at Cowboys Stadium. Dallas-Ft. Worth is pretty much a transplant city but I'd guess the majority of residents are Cowboys fans. I know the hispanic population loves the Cowboys. I just feel like the real die-hard fans, the ones that would help protect the house can't afford to go. I feel as though I get a better experience at home. So when you look at game watching experience, the cost of regularly attending games, it's just not worth it. Rangers games are affordable for families, so are Mavericks and Stars games. Can't say the same with the Cowboys. BTW, I know a couple different season ticketholders who regularly sell their tickets.

You nailed it, brother. I have not been to a game because of the expense to watch what I could watch in the comfort of my own home for the cost of electricity to have the TV on and snacks form WalMart.Jerry can't see the forest for all the money trees. :(

I know. A real fan would sell local to fans heck, I know 100 people that might buy one. Support you're team with pride instead of bashing Jerry when the fans are disgracing all of us. Peace:starspin:

Poor Jerry. You really have to feel for the guy with all the "bashing" he gets.

Haha... it was both. I think our fans are just tired of the same poor product on the field year after year. Jerry focuses more on entertainment and bringing in money than he does on the team. It's like a big circus there. Our fans have nothing to cheer about but the opposing teams fans do.

I'd like a tour of his liquor facility, where his personal stash is stored.

When we consider the team was 6-10 when Garrett took over and will likely end up finishing 6-10 or worse four years later with absolutely nothing to show for in between, when we consider the team has one playoff win in 20 years, Jerry is probably counting his lucky stars that a stadium of such a large size is selling out. He does not care why it is selling out.
