49ers averaging almost 68 plays a game

The main thing we need to do is stop them from converting 3rd downs and on offense we need extended drives. We need to keep our defense fresh otherwise the quick play calling will wear them down quickly and they will look worse than they already do.

Well, with our ball control offense, it will keep their offense off the field, so I can see that 68 plays per game dropping a bit this Sunday.
This is where the offense can help the defense, by keeping them rested for Chipper's fast paced offense.

What I've gotten is that their run game is their main strength. Is it good or just what they're best at? Listened to a Bay Area podcast that said they were going 3 & out about 50% of the time. Is that just against the Seahawks or pretty much all 3 games? It also seemed to say they needed help at receiver. Not exactly a great O?, but they've still scored in the upper 20s against the Rams & Panthers.

Finding anything on their D is next to impossible. The only mention I got was that their pass rush was pretty bad.

Sure sounds like we both match up with the same strengths/weaknesses. Maybe our passing game tips the scales our way. I guess the real question is who is actually better. Inquiring minds want to know.

We are going to run on this defense and also should be able to make throws at will, they have average secondary. Our biggest concern is their run game, Carlos Hyde is a horse, he is no Todd Gurley but he will tire a defense. IMO they are similar to Chicago more than Washington or New York.

I like the Cowboys in this one. Better offense and some momentum coming off 2 wins...plus they know Kellys college offense as well as any team. Keep the defense off the field...means run the ball against a club with a poor run defense. It should be a good but close win for the good guys. After this one....no comment.

Im concerned about their run game.

Idgit, sooner or later this defense is going to get exposed. Right now they're being protected by an offense that's racking up the TOP. i'm not confident that continues this week.

i understand but we have different personnel now. We have nobody stout on this dline that doesn't routinely get blown off the ball. The niners have a large oline, combine that with the speed of the offense.....our thin dline is going to get washed in this game. The Bears game was a wake up call for me regarding how bad this dline is. Bears have a very bad oline yet guys like Mayowa were still getting treated like a rag doll and scrub Hoyer was able to drive down the field.

Fair enough. We both know the defense isn't good.

This is a game I feel confident about since we know Chip's offense, the QB differential is heavily in our favor, and SF has had some issues stopping the run of their own, but we'll see. I think it's a team like GB or PHI that exposes our defense eventually.

Lot of plays. Not a lot of production. Not worried.

The only time they've really done anything the past 2 weeks is when they were down 3 or 4 scores and the game was well in hand.

They are a bad football team.

Wk 3 8 out of 12 drives they had 4 or less plays

Wk 2 12 out of 17 drives 4 plays or less

wk 1 6 out of 13 drives 4 plays or less

They've been playing teams who dont run the ball like the Cowboys do. Dont have long sustaining drives like the Cowboys do. Cowboys arent going to allow 12-13 possessions in the game for this team. And they're only kind of success came from a bad texans team, and still lost.

Cowboys should never lose this game. If they do it will be an embarrassment. Niners are disfunctional right now. Cowboys have dominated Kellys teams too.

And stats alone dont even say how bad this team is. Those of us on the west coast have to endure this bad football team playing on tv. Theyre QB situation is worse then what Dallas had last yr. And their defense is just as bad. Its not the same niner defense.
