49ers sign Tavon. Cowboys make mistake passing

I think Austin was one of the players that was causing some division last year. It is one thing if you are Dez Bryant and you are a distraction, entirely another if your Tavon Austin.

Speed is the most overrated aspect of all NFL traits largely because angles chew up most of it and the very few who have elite speed AND skill are what matters.
Dallas isn't lacking speed anymore.
This isn't Dez, Witten, Beasley.

Last year Austin caught only 54% of his targets. Averaged only 13.6 yards per reception. His RAC was a decent 6.2 yards per catch but he only caught passes for average 7 yards off the line of scrimmage.

He also broke 0 tackles.
He fumbled a lot as a returner in his career to the point they had him just fair catch most everything last year.

Austin was never coming back and was totally unwanted here.

It's very possible he helps us the most he ever has by fumbling when we play the 49ers this year.

As a WVU Homer Ioved Tavon Awesome. One of the most exciting college players I ever watched.
However he never had the same impact in the NFL. But I wish him well.
