Bless his pea-picking heart, Tavon's one of those who excites you one minute but has you wondering where he went the next. Yes, he has speed but no, he just can't take the punishment that the NFL has to offer. Sorry, it's sad but it's true. He was good while he lasted but he didn't last long at all! It seemed like he had nearly as many injuries as he had carries. Thanks to the 49ers for taking him. Will he really be missed? Uh, maybe not.

27% of the offensive snaps last year. 11% in 2018.

He and his speed were largely a non-factors in Dallas.

Pretty sure Floaty was joking.

Based on his post history, I doubt it. He has taken very strange stances often. The only surprise is Tavon is not a Boise St player.

No big loss with regards to Austin not coming back. He has not had much of a pro career. They will be able to fill his role. He is 30 now. He will probably have a few big plays this season, but won't be a consistent weapon.

As a WV Mountaineer fan and a fan of Tavon's I do wish him luck and maybe in San Fran someone will finally use him in a effective manner

Just going on the record as saying...we are gonna miss his speed. We just don't have that kind of guy...and we need that.

Huh??? Guy is not a good football player. Injury prone. Small. Character issues. Getting older. Big time pass.

The one time he could have made a major impact Jason Garrett neutered him into a fair catch.
But that play also told you he didn't have a killer instinct and wasn't an extreme talent, despite his speed.
Brett Favre, Lawrence Taylor or Michael Irvin would have said, "Screw it! Let's win this game."
Austin has a WIDE OPEN crease down the sidelines and with his speed, would have put us in position to possibly win the game.
He fair catches. Ball game.
Bye! Bye!

I literally had no idea who you were talking about when I first read the topic, that's how little impact Tavon's time in Dallas had on me as a fan.

For a brief second, I thought this thread was going to be about Taven Bryan. That's how much Dallas is going to miss Austin. .

He wouldn’t make the cut on this team and a kick return/punt return specialist really has no place in the nfl now n days because of the [new] rules.

Wow. I was going to disagree slightly on PR, but the numbers just aren't there. In fact, I'd probably take a good punter over a good KR at this point.

I'm sure we'll miss all those fair catches, but I think Fassel can teach someone else to make fair catches.
