4th Down To Glenn

Most have gotten all fired up about him not at least getting to the end zone on a critical 4th down play.

Fact is all he needed was the 1 for a FIRST DOWN. We complete that play and we are 1st and goal. Doesn't soothe the pain but its not as drastic a route running mistake as many have insinuated.....

It didn't look like Glenn would of gotten the first. He is just a little guy you know!

My recollection is you're wrong and if he caught the ball he was going to be tackled right there. Bad play all the way around by the ex New England guys but I'm sure you'll think up an excuse for them.

Nope - just the fact that that play if completed with a better throw could have made the 1st and not scored the TD...... a fact often over looked by some (you) here in the overreaction hysteria. :starspin

it would not suprise me one bit if that play was designed to get a first down and not a touchdown because of the time remaining. i doubt bill will ever admit it though. he knew all it would take was one pass to moss or a couple more runs by jordan to get a last second field goal with that much meat still left on the bone.

your recollection would be wrong then...the first down marker was just outside the goalline...Glenn probably wouldnt have made the first even if he had been able to make the catch

I don't buy that - I remember looking at the first down marker AT THE 11 as NFL.COM has stated and specifically thinking - we can get a first down inside the 1.

With a better pass to Glenn - he gets that.

not quite as dumb as throwing passes well short of the first down (or TD) mark two times in 3 weeks, both times costing us potential wins

whoever is designing those routes for these key plays should be joining Mr Zimmer on the unemployment line

It was a godawful throw, like most of the passes Bledsoe threw to Glenn (and Key) on Sunday. Bounced on the turf, over his head, or behind him. That last pass was poorly thrown. Period.

The line pretty much let Bledsoe down, but he let down the receivers with those atrocious throws. The best I can say for him was he had little chance to get any rhythm going with the poor pass protection and the lousy run blocking that stymied JJ.

Not to mention the arse backwards play calling.

Nors, you do understand that they dont report yds as "10.1 yard line" right?

If its outside the 10, its officially the 11 yd line
