I'm not sure how a guy who started 130 game for Dallas and who was an important part of the secondary could be considered a role player. He was on the all-decade team of the 1970s.
We all love Roger, Troy, Emmitt, Tony D, Tony R, Irvin, Manster, Too Tall, Lilly, etc......but who are your 5 favorite players who weren't superstars.
1. LB/S Bill Bates
2. WR Kelvin Martin
3. DT Chad Hennings
4. S James Washington
5. DE Greg Ellis
Danny would also at times pull that ball down on a punt and throw it
Another honorable mention should go to Laurent Robinson. We only had him one year, and didn't expect much. He ended up surprising us all. One year wonder indeed. Glad it was with us.
Remember him doing that, and the infamous " No Danny No" by Landry on the sideline when he decided to do something other than punt the ball away
Role players guys. That means full time starters not included. Surprised how many here do not understand that.
Preston Pearson and Bill Bates are pretty much the ones head and shoulders above everyone else
