5 games, no interceptions for DB's

Alot of them are not showing up.

I still can't understand how anybody would think that CB's would give us a pass rush.

Trust me, I lose sleep at night worrying about our CB depth chart. I thank the lord we wasted 50 million and 1st and 2nd round picks on tires for a car with a rotting frame and blown motor.

You really need to lose the either/or logical fallacy on pass rush and secondary play.

It is obvious the guys up front are either late or not getting there on time.

The front is not getting it done, the cb's are avoiding the huge holes and big plays down field.

I would love the secondary to make plays but the front is not getting to the QB enough, this is a pass rush issue.

Ryan needs to find a way to get the QB, I can live with the corners but not the pass rush.

I rightly think we need BOTH a pass rush AND sound secondary play.

It's not the pressure from the outside, that's fine. The reason we can't get TO's is we can't get pressure up the middle. We get there on the outside, but the QB has a place to step up. Hence no TO's.

Bingo, a man that notices the issue.

I hope we got a lifetime balancing guarantee on those tires, because they are in need of some maintenance already.

Okay,

Maybe you " QB chairs" professionals will get this

The DEFENSE SUCKS..

AND has for years.

You are right, but when is the last time one of our DBs just made a play on the ball?

You need to really evaluate this entire team if you think the cb's are the main problem.

If you have watched the games it is primarily offense, special teams and dumb decisions, I smell dumb agenda.

You're right as well. You have to practice it, like the bears do. We obviously try to work on it for most likely a few minutes per week.

I would take Williams as DC at this point.

Jenkins almost had one, but where is our vaunted DB's and our interceptions?

pressure creates turnovers, not corners....where's the pressure, can't win in the NFL consistantly unless the trenches are addressed on both sides of the ball...

Yeah the return of the Rat did not seem to help much either

I didn't even notice he was in teh game. He should be a DE and should have been at DE for a few years now.

Yeah people like to claim the whole "Chicken or the egg" thing, but that's nonesense. You can have 7 Deions back there and they WILL get beat if the qb is standing comfortably in the pocket.

I know it's a pass rush issue. I've always known it's a pass rush issue. The names at cornerback are irrelevant when QBs are comfortable against your defense. You can't win out covering people. I knew when Carr was signed that he would be the complete non factor he's been these first 5 games.

You need quality play at both but follow me here. One begets the other and it doesn't work in reverse. A quality front seven will give you an effective secondary. A quality secondary will not give you an effective front seven. Your front is where your impact players reside. That's where you need to spend your resources. Then guys like Newman, Jenkins and Scandrick....supposed bums by this fan base, would have been more than enough to win with.

This was a very cavemanish approach to fixing our defense. QB complete ball to WR. CB gave up completion. CB bad. Must be replaced.

It didn't address what was really going on to allow so many CBs in Dallas over recent years look like they didn't belong in the league. Those guys are set up to fail right now and will continue to fail until there's a concerted effort to revamp our DL and OLB positions.

Then we agree, the point is you need both. Right now we have the CBS but not the pass rush.

I agree, we failed to address a pass rusher as always but Rob still has to attempt to get pressure, HE has failed to get pressure up the middle.

There is no reason to overstate the pass rush, we still do not have one, the corners help but the front has to do its part, it hasn't.

That said, it would be even worse in terms of big plays down the field with the cbs we were utilizing.

Giants just got 2 picks in the same quarter. We'll be lucky to get 2 in a month

Antrel Rolle showing how its done. We need playmakers at the safety position.

I don't think we do agree. You think it's important to have a top CB depth chart. I don't. I think you can win with average joe CBs if you have your front seven fixed. I'd add in a rangy FS to roam the middle of the field and make plays on rushed throws.

It's not like teams have unlimited resources. You have to go cheap somewhere to comply with the salary cap. That would always be CB for me.

I think you need both good pass rush and a sound secondary.

Players like Newman and Ball would still pose problems regardless, that is how we actually beat the Giants.

I agree with the FS,Church may have been an undrafted free agent but his loss is having an impact on the back end.

I also agree if the front seven were fixed then this defense would actually be quite stout with a pass rush and sound secondary.

You simply paid for a free agent in free agency on day one, it will cost a lot and premium pass rushers are like $100 million.

We have needed to draft pass rushers the last three years, then the cost would be low, we need to learn from the Giants.

If you spend a premium on corner, you best draft well for pass rushers regardless of round.

Rob has also not blitzed as much, Ware rushes to the outside and gets pushed up field, the QB simply moves up.

We need pressure up the middle, rush Lee or Carter, use what you do have in light of failing to address the need for the last four years.

:laugh2: For some reason, this is funny as hell.

As soon as opposing QBs start throwing interceptable passes.we will get interceptions
