5 Under-The-Radar Cowboys Who Can Be Huge In 2016

http://insidethestar.com/5-radar-cowboys-can-huge-2016/

While the Cowboys have gotten a ton of flack for their lack of free agent additions, there are several current members of the team that can really help them in 2016. And while new players help, player development is key for year to year improvement.

There are 2 key components to getting the most out of these players:
  1. Figuring out a player’s role so that you can maximize what you get out of them
  2. The player putting in the necessary work both mentally and physically to come back better than they were before
Some of these players will be thrust into bigger roles and others may just need to be given a chance.

Wide Receiver, Brice Butler...

Great read ! complete agreement....please withhold the "championship" responses...and now we should resign coakley posts...they really have no value and load the site with nonsense to page thru...if u feel the need, call upstairs to your mother and tell her, she might be amused

Great read, thanks for the link.

I would like to see David Irving get some snaps as strong side DE, I think he'd be perfect there, which is why I'm sure he'll never get a shot there. Russel and Wilson are another pair that would be outstanding to see them progress this year.

Love Irving and Wilson, Butler did show flashes but git injured , hopefully a few of those guys turn it up. I believe nirving is a freak talent that can really help this pass rush.

Who would have thought before this free agency...that Irving, Lawrence, Mayowa, Gregory, Thornton, Crawford, and Russell would be looking pretty interesting and shout out youthful.

Irving and whitehead I believe in.

Butler could be like Laurent but he's often injured it seems.

The other guys I'm not too high on.

You didn't like Lucky at the end of the season?

Except for Butler...all mentioned are well within the three year window allowed for 'rook' developments.

Going by a lessened level of observation, Drill Sergeants would just take a look at Trainees and send them all back to Momma.

This has to be improved into a current contribution:

In round three, Dallas picked offensive tackle Chaz Green who did not see the field at all in his rookie season. Third round picks are players that should compete for starting positions if not at least earn playing time as rotational players.

Fourth round pick Damien Wilson made a whopping 15 tackles from his linebacker spot. Defensive end Ryan Russell, the team’s fifth round pick played in one game last year recording no stats.

The Cowboys’ last three draft picks, linebacker Mark Nzeocha, offensive tackle Lawrence Gibson and tight end Geoff Swain were non-factors last year as well.

Very good article.
Irving and Butler and Russell are 3 players I want to see in TC and how they will do. Also Wilson, to see if he looks any better.
Whitehead progressed well, but as the article said, now get him more involved in the passing game.

Please do not tag him as an injury prone player. Once some on here pick up on that, we will get 100,000 posts over and over.....LOL...

Good list Irving and Russell could make that line legit w/o reaching for bosa.

And if Oakland doesn't match the offer for Mayowa and if Jack Crawford in brought back. If can be a decent line at least to keep an eye on until a DE emerges. Like you said, do not have to reach.
And DE's will become available later on as they get released. Can be a stop gap until one emerges in TC.

I also liked what butler did but he may be injury prone type guy. It would be nice to see both him and Romo stay healthy all year.

I'm really liking this guy's work so far. Thanks again for sharing it.

Collins tossed Russell around like a rag doll during camp so it may take him a bit longer...

Prediction: at least one if not two of the 5 listed won't be on the opening day roster.

Excitement is tempered.
