Standing "pat"? Play on words, or just coincidence?

As far as looking to bring someone else in, we have the list of current available, but I'm sure they're also scouring other teams' rosters for possible others.

Initially I thought trying to trade for someone might be a good idea...but I'm backing away from that. I'm pretty sure teams looking at this situation would force the Cowboys to spend more draft picks than necessary. And since I honestly don't believe this is Cowboys year, it's not the time to over spend draft picks for more mediocrity. I'd rather they develop who they have / bring in someone with potential sitting on the couch than mortgage their future.

The best I've seen Bruce Carter play was when he replaced Lee at middle linebacker a couple years back,,, now that was a different defense but still,,, maybe this is the position Carter was made to play.

He's my favorite potential replacement...

I was actually thinking of the waiver wire as TC goes along. Perhaps from a team that gets caught in a numbers crunch at LB. I agree, I don't think a trade is necessarily the best thing at this point
