I really don't see how they can force Philly to play or release TO. They might be able to shorten the 4 game suspension where he loses $$, but Philly is obligated to pay him the rest of the year even if they cut him. (the vested vertran rule bites TO here). They have no reason to cut him and give him what he want. No one in their right mind would trade anything of value for him, so unless TO offer to buy out his contract, they deactivate him and put him on the shelf for the rest of the year.

I would only hope JJ and the Cowboys organization would have the resolve to do the same in a similar situation if one arises. (it will if we sign TO)

...this Friday is specifically going to address T.O.'s right to engage in his profession on the field. He is requesting to be on the active roster in order to force Philly's hand.

If he wins, Reid and Lurie have no choice, but to either let him come to the team's facilities and practice as if he is on the acitve roster or let him go outright.

Friday's results will be very interesting for the Eagles and the league.

I think the wieghing bit of info regarding all of this is very blatent and very easy to see if you know what you're looking for... Jerry Jones not only said "I'd take him", but also tap-danced around the issue of what's right as far as league rules for tampering with a player still on another team.

Jerry will now go (if he hasn't already) and talk with Bill. And if Bill's up for the challange, TO is as good as a Cowboy.

And it fits, totally makes sense on so many levels. We are the wayward home for disgruntled WR's. First there was Terry Glenn who was suspended by the Patriots. THen there was Keyshawn who was suspended by the Bucs. And now TO. Which would complete a "set". Not to mention this "3rd one" really could be the charm. A charm that takes us all the way to a super bowl and will play his guts out for that win!

You don't like that scenerio.. fine. Half of yall will probably fall asleep durning the games anyway.

The Eagles are going to be forced to release him. The weird stat to look for is whose higher on the waiver wire when he is released; Dallas and Denver will be fighting over him and there close in record.

TO will show up to practice when his suspension is up. Eagles will then be forced to cut him. If Dallas signs him it would only cost them about 400,000 since the Eagles already paid most of his contract. After the season is a team option. Its not a bad thing to take a couple of weeks flier. TO would be on his best behavior and he will be motivated. Next up, trying to get home field and a Superbowl run.

where do you buy that from? that the eagles will have to cut him?
hell, what is to say that the eagles can dress him every week ride the bench.... if it was me, i would find a way to do just that for what he has done... that way he can be humiliated on the bench for all cameras to see waiting for his chance to play but it will never come....

oh, and yes - i agree that statement by Hostile is definately the quote of the day ( this is his (TO) best behavior ) LOL

I agree, so for TO to come here he needs to be able to play special teams. LOL

I'd rather miss the playoffs altogether than win a SB with T.O. on the team. Even if he was the perfect player, teammate, and the MVP of the SB, I could not stomach seeing him wearing the silver and blue with the star....I'd rather lose.

I believe Jerry Jones was quoted as saying that TO could sleep on the star if he came to the Cowboys.

that's just crazy talk,,, this guy came from San Fran and Philly, the top two pass happy teams on the planet, so does ANYBODY think he would be on board with the Parcells/Payton game plan that gets him the ball 8 times per game? No fricking way, he'd get bored and start molesting the mascots or whatever else it took to get himself in the limelight again!

Remember, this is Jerry Jones we're talking about, anytime the talking heads want to drop the Cowboy name onto center stage Jerry will play along... Peter King made it on to the Jones family Christmas card list this year.

The same thing the team already says. WIN NOW. The Dallas Cowboys (Jerry Jones) are dedicated to winning and will do a lot to win. If Jerry thinks T.O. can get him another ring, he's proabably already talked to him, or having Irvin do the ground work. It wouldnt surprise me if T.O. ended up here, nor would it bother me......until he started acting like a bonehead, and only if him acting like a bonehead kept us from winning!

Jones having Irvin do the ground work............. :lmao2: ........ that's one of the dumbest things I've heard..... Do you know what tampering means? :D

TO has been in the league long enough - he would be a free agent if cut and free to negotiate with any team. So how would you like to get in a bidding war over TO? And then next year have him complain and want to redo his contract since we cheating him so badly giving him an 8 million signing bonus. And then cause a ruckus in training camp and whining like a little @#@#%! cause he's only making six million a year instead of ten?

I agree he is a force to be reckoned with. I agree other teams have to game plan almost exclusively to stop him. If we could sign him to a one year deal with an option next year to add years I would say why not. If he wants a long term commitment without us adding some protection in the contract I say let someone else take their chances.

Nuff said.

Go Cowboys!
