There are a handful of players on the Cowboys who could shock people this season.

When training camp rolls around later this summer, the time will come for everyone to have their “favorite” players. For the Dallas Cowboys, many players could make the lists. From rookie draft picks and new outside acquisitions to veterans looking to make some noise, soon there will be buzz about certain players. Before those players are revealed, let’s get an early jump on some potential names we start hearing more about. Here are six players to buy stock in before they rise.

RT Terence Steele

Steele is everyone’s favorite player to hate. Since returning from his bad knee injury at the end of the 2022 season, he just hasn’t been the same player. Prior to that, he was on the up and up and was looking at Pro Bowl level. With another year removed from injury, the new offensive line coaches, and some added muscle next to him, we could see Steele return to form in 2025.

One thing is for certain - with so many new and young players being called on to play this year, we are going to have a ton of surprises.

I've said it a few times, I think out of the gate this team is going to struggle but by mid season they will begin to come together and by Dec they will be a team that has a bad record but is playing strong.

Unfortunately the way the schedule lines up they are going to have a really hard backfhalf so not likely the catch up if they indeed have a slow start

My 6 are

Steele, Guyton, Sam Williams, Kneland, Pickens (career year?), Prescott.
Pickens? He’s expected to do well. He’s been a good player during his career. A career year playing with a better QB than he’s had won’t be a surprise.

O- Schoonmaker; IMHO the TE position is wide open and those who are down on this guy, bet of his snaps increase so does his game..

D- Sanborn- IMO He's going to be much like Zach Baun. And a little like Eric Kendricks from here from last year with no expectations has no real past production was considered bargain basement and Zach Baun surprised everyone, kendricks was way better and I think everybody who's concerned about the linebacker room, I say I think it's one of the better linebacker rooms we've had and I think this guy is going to surprise some people...

I think all will be much improved. Steele wouldn’t be a shock since was a good RT before injuries. So if he can just get back to that. Beebe I expect to be easily a top 10 player at his position. Span-Ford I kinda like and I think we need to get lots of reps so we know what we got going into next year. Guyton is a guy I expect to be better. I don’t know if he will be great but I think he will be much improved which is important

We have some really athletic LB who once they get reps could be pretty good. Sanborn is a pretty good player in coverage and has played a lot in coverage. He’s better in coverage than Kendrick. Gonna be interesting to see him healthy and his experience will help young guys

Beebe and Steele *should* both be better if their health holds.
A little more confident in Beebe. We're pretty good on hitting on Cs.

EVERYONE IS SO HYPE ON ELIAM HE HASN'T done one thing in pads, or even against the Rams in a scrimmage! It's good to hear what he's doing, but I would like to see him go against our top guys and theirs if they're playing in the scrimmage

Steele, Beebe, Spann-Ford, Sanborn, Elam, Clark
For this that are link click adverse. :muttley:

Clark being an UDFA, but read some good things. But also look at Barron at LB.
Both of these players have a chance to sneak onto the 53 until injured players are ready to return.
The offseason player movements have certainly been different this year compared to recent years. When these FA acquisitions were made this year I thought they finally became serious. If they don’t start, they could still be very valuable depth. Several former 1st rounders were signed so theres a chance 1 or 2 of them can really produce. Then there’s Pickens. Could end up being one of the best moves the Cowboys have ever made. Of course it could go the opposite way but that’s why we love the game. We get to watch it play out in real time and root them on. Unfortunately many here root against them. The good thing about that is they expose themselves. Go Cowboys!

I think your spot on Jipper as far as them starting out slowly. Some of that will depend on how Shotty plays the starters in preseason. The starters need to play a bit. Dak hasn’t played since the middle of last season so he certainly needs some playing time. Cowboys blew out Cleveland opening day last year with a defensive win. Dak didn’t do much but didn’t have to. Cleveland was a horrible team so the Cowboys were fortunate. This year playing Philthy, the Boys need to come out of the gate ready to go.

PS
Speaking of Cleveland, there’s a show called Stadium Lockup that shows bad fan behavior during last season. They were fired up for the opening day game against the Cowboys until things started going south. Funny.

I saw the preview for that!! Any good? I love the behind the scenes stuff.

With the Cowboys, i now live in the charlotte area so im really hoping they do better than I think and start off the year positively- then I'll take my middle boy to his first game here....not paying 1000 bucks to watch a 1-4 team

It’s mostly about how ridiculous people are when they get drunk.

I agree Sanborn will be a player in this Eberflus defense,I have no doubt about that.
