When we are good and have a decent team, Carr plays great. I think his only subpar year was 2013 but other than that Carr has been very solid. If we would of had a healthy Claiborne who we traded up to pair with Carr. Carr would have been a pro bowl CB playing as the #2 CB. Carr has being very solid compared to other players who got hurt with 15 and 20 million $ salaries.

BTW we signed Carr to groom Claiborne and teach him the ends and outs but Claiborne kept getting hurt.

We did not sign Carr to groom Claiborne. You have coaches for that. You don't add a huge contract for a player so he can coach.

Seriously? That's all you got? The ENTIRE Giants secondary is in the end zone, & APPLE gave up the Hail Mary. Pathetic. Just stop-you're embarrassing yourself. Apple plays in the same division, played the same receivers, & HE didn't get owned like Brown did-that's all. I love the Brown pick, especially in the 6th round, but you can't be such a homer that you don't see any of his flaws. It doesn't help him, or the team to put blinders on.
I recall him giving up 3 long passes.

Considering that he played over 700 snaps as a rookie that's really good.

You should try studying the game footage or better yet the All-22.

I love the potential that Brown has shown, but let's be honest, Apple is a much better corner. What those stats DON'T show are the many times that Brown got burnt like toast. Antonio Brown, DeSean Jackson, OBJ, etc. all had 100+ yard games against Brown. He's especially susceptible to slug-go routes, where the receiver stops & goes deep. Once he learns how to position his body better so he doesn't feel the need to bite on those, he will become even better. His safeties, especially Byron Jones, haven't backed him up very well, either. We need to take those deep balls away, so that opponents have to slug their way down the field. We'll also be better once we get another speed rusher, & another top corner.

The 2nd game where OBJ caught the TD was Carr's fault, not Brown. Antonio Brown's got 50 yards out of his 100 yard day during the last play of the game. So reality he was held in check. That TD by Brown wasn't against Anthony.

SO a rookie got burnt by 3 of the best receivers in the league.....shocking. Did you see Eli Apple give up that Hail Mary pass last night? Far worse then anything I've seen from Brown this year..
Brown didnt burn him either. He got 100 yards a 20 to yarder when the games was pretty much over. Was held pretty much in check when the game was in doubt. That game pretty much put Anthony Brown on map as a quality CB

I still don't understand the hate on Carr, he rarely gives up big plays or tds but for some reason Carr gets thrown under the bus all the time.

Get real. Think Megatron and OBJ. Last year Carr improved 100% and this year Carr improved another 100%. His early years, Carr SUCKED. Could not cover anyone and could not and would not tackle anyone.

Wasnn't that also the game Leon McFadden had to play some snaps at CB?

Brown probably started more games but whatever.. I am thrilled with his potential.

Yeah- this is huge. Says a lot about the draft!! I think last year's draft was one of the best, if not the best, in Cowboys history.

Brown was a great find for us.
Now do this same schematic for their safety vs ours. Not as pretty

Drafts are tricky business but overall I'm happy with the players we are rolling with

Yeah I didn't even get a chacne to even get into the fact that he wasn't "burnt" by those guys. I know Desean beat him deep once......maybe Brown did but I remember coming away from that game shocked Brown didn't do more against us with a rookie on him at times.

And Odel IMO, had a rather pedestrian game when we faced us that second time........though his TD was huge I don't even think that was Brown's fault from what I remember.

I didn't really like Eli Apple coming out. I think he will be a very solid corner in this league. Sort of like Prince A was for them. But for where he was drafted I don't want solid I want a star.

The guy made arguably the best catch in history against him. If Carr's reputation is hurt by that then fine. Hopefully it means we can get him here cheaper because he's been very good for us this year. We need more turnovers but that comes with more of a consistent pass rush.

There is no comparison to Eli Apple. He doesn't play for us and was a much larger investment than Brown's. What matters is Brown. How will he progress? What's his ceiling? He has good metrics. He has a lot of the physical stuff you look for in a top corner. He got in there his rookie year and competed in one of the most difficult positions. He performed well enough. I think his ceiling is pretty high. If he progresses next year like he did this year, he's going to be really, really solid.

I care about Apple exactly twice a year.
