Not true. This one would please me from top to bottom. You should know that no draft would ever please anyone top to bottom.
It would take a knock your socks type of offer. Getting Barnett at 28 is a gift from the NFL draft gods.I would not trade out of the 1st if Barnett is sitting there. I will take him.

I have a range of players at each pick but mocking the 2-3 rounds this year has been basically impossible. Should make it more fun to watch
San Fran's got multiple picks in the 4th, 5th and 6th rounds, if they want a QB badly, I think they can afford to cough up their 3rd. They also have nothing at the position at the moment with a new head coach and GM that probably wants to make a big splash in their first year. I think a third is doable.Well, if the cowboys could rob someone like that, I'd love it!
Then again, in this draft we would've passedon Barnett...who I like.
Anyway, just point to a case where late in the 1st someone overpaid by that much (nearly 25%) and I'm with you.
The GMs absolutely use those charts or something similar. Just look up trades and you'll see they're all within about 5%. The exceptions are when a future 1st or 2nd in involved, because then the gray area grows. Also, if it's at the very top of the draft and QB...so nothing like this scenario..there may be some desperation and silliness..like the RG3 deal.
Last year the team moving up (Denver) at almost the exact same spot (Seattle at 26) paid within 3% of the chart to get a quarterback.
You have no more idea than I do, unless you are one of the many here that claim to have 'inside sources'.That is awesome. But in no draft would you get Blair Brown in the seventh.
I admit. I bought how much of a scene Lynch made about him at the Combine.San Fran's got multiple picks in the 4th, 5th and 6th rounds, if they want a QB badly, I think they can afford to cough up their 3rd. No. Sorry, friendo. I am sourceless. You have no more idea than I do, unless you are one of the many here that claim to have 'inside sources'.
But, I digress.
I see you've taken him at the top of the 4th. When it's all said and done, I'd be willing to bet he's closer to the 7th round than he is to the 112th pick.
Agree that is why I would draft Barnett and not trade out. If I am doing it you better give me an offer that is hard to turn down like 2, 3, 4 and next year 1.It would take a knock your socks type of offer. Getting Barnett at 28 is a gift from the NFL draft gods.
Since its make believe and would never happen...and has never happened....and since amazingly it is benefiting our Cowboys on a Cowboys fan board...why not?!San Fran's got multiple picks in the 4th, 5th and 6th rounds, if they want a QB badly, I think they can afford to cough up their 3rd. That's a very fair point and something that could happen. I'm just wondering who a good trading partner would be. Looking at the list, I'm thinking maybe the dolphins seeing as how they don't have any glaring needs? Depending on how the board shakes out, I can see a lot of the teams from 21 - 27 wanting to stand pat.Since its make believe and would never happen...and has never happened....and since amazingly it is benefiting our Cowboys on a Cowboys fan board...why not?!
I'll take it
The point remains that since their 34th an 66th picks is enough to trade for the 21st pick and for some reason want this particular player so badly, why wouldn't they just trade for him 6-7 picks earlier at the same price rather than risk waiting until 28? It would make zero sense.
I really like the Tarik Cohen pick. This cat can move, juke, spin like nobody's business. I would like him to replace Dunbar. I could watch his highlight reels for hours, if I had the time.
Don't tell us. Tell Garrett and Linehan who insisted on giving an inferior player like Dunbar wasteful snaps in key third down situations.Hey, do you guys remember how much talk their was about Emmitt's backup in the 90's? How we all wanted to get another guy to lighten the load and stuff?
Me neither.
Be a man. Use Zeke. If you're scared, get a dog.
I said nothing about taking Zeke off the field, just stated he could take over the Dunbar role. Dunbar wasn't a replacement role, more of a pass catcher, compliment back. Go watch his vdds, hes pretty cool and elusive as all get out.Hey, do you guys remember how much talk their was about Emmitt's backup in the 90's? Dont underestimate the value of the 5th year option on a QBI hear ya.
My point is that they can trade up way higher than us if they plan to give that much up. 7-8 slots higher and not risk their guy falling all the way to 28.
Instead maybe they'd just give us 34 and 98 (instead of 66) and call it day. Dallas comes out slightly ahead but more real world like.
I've never once seen a team that late in the first round get that lopsided of a trade. It happens at the very top sometimes though..especially if the vague future picks are throw n in there.
No big deal. It's your mock. Good effort.
btw, I'm all over Barnett at 28 ...if there.

And I have 4 dogs thanks.
