Well, I remember the role, it was to spell Emmitt. Now if you ask if I remember the backs name, thats a different question. Would Hambrick be one of the many that passed through here? But the role of a back up is to spell the starter, no matter the team, and every team has a back up to spell the starter. And why cant we use both Zeke and Cohen in the same back field or have Zeke in the back filed and Cohen split out. Again. I never said take Zeke off the field, but in some cases you have to give him a blow.Dunbar's "role" took Zeke off the field on 3rd downs.
Do you remember the role Emmitt's backup had?
Me neither.
You can go into the season with just one back if you want to and you will have a dead back in short order. Do you remember Marion "The Barbarian" Barber? He lasted what 3 years? And that was with a back up also. Is that what you want for Zeke? Even Emmitt had a back up. The Cowboys know this and will have one too for Zeke. I believe that would be McFadden or Morris at present. What I am saying is Tarik Cohen would make a nifty little back, whether its to back up the starter, run routes ala Dunbar or even return kicks and punts. This guy is pretty cool to watch and if he can translate his game to the NFL we would have a heck of a duo at RB. Check him out. I dare you, no, I double dog dare you to watch his videos and not want him as a late round pick or UDFA back. I dont know if he would make the cut, but in watching the highlight reels, UI was like, WOW that kid has some moves. I would wager he one of the most elusive back in college today. If he can bring that wiggle to the NFL we would be better for it.
Your plan for Zeke is unrealistic to never take him off the field. No team in the NFL, CFL or even High School would propose to follow that plan.
