Sorry boys, but I'm not feeling it for Sunday.

1. Dallas was 2-4 last year when facing winning teams...before Packers in playoffs
2. Cleveland had 2nd best defense last year (DVOA rating)
3. The dog pound is loud and emotional & Browns were 8-1 at home last year
4. Guyton facing Myles Garrett in his very first game is too much
5. Dallas has lost 8 of it's last 11 games on grass
6. Cleveland has one of the most complete rosters in NFL
7. First game of season = sloppy. Cleveland can be damp and windy.
Lose, maybe. But the Browns won't score enough points to make it ugly, imo.

The only way we lose ugly is if we suffer turnovers and our defense picks up where it left off against Green Bay in the playoffs. We didn’t perform well last season on the road and we struggled when we didn’t get any takeaways.

I can see a loss, sure…...or a Win.

A blowout loss seems highly unlikely
Here was my sincere prediction from a few pages back in the thread:

T-Ro: "I think we lose 23-16, but it won't be particularly competitive, IMO. We'll get some late points to make the final score respectable."

Facing a stud defense on the road EARLY in the season - when offenses are struggling to catch up with defenses.

Diminished expectations. CLE - 24, DAL - 17 (Cowboys get a late garbage-time TD making score look closer than the game was.)

And when we win it’ll be “it’s just the browns”
True, some guys just always choose the down side, no matter what. And if the Super Bowl is the only game that matters at all, the down side is easy to find. Personally I don't start worrying about Super Bowls in September. There's a lot of football to be played in the next 3 months or so, and unlike some, I intend to enjoy it unless we fall flat on our face, which I doubt. Once we get closer to the playoff season then I can start worrying about playoffs.

Playing a tough game with a loss is no embarrassment.

Living in Philly and playing silly games from mom's basement most certainly is. Get lost, little fella.
Whether we win lose or draw, I'm not gonna give this game away before we play it!

It'll be tough. This is the kind of game that'll be won in the trenches. I like our o-line, but RB and DT are huge question marks. If they establish the ground game, we're in trouble.

That is during TC and the install periods. By the time preseason starts they have caught up.

Conditioning and being able to handle extended drives to start a season sees the opposite scenario. This has only gotten more pronounced as teams do not play starters in preseason at all any more.

You watch the Chiefs/Balt game? The defenses were wiped out at the end of the game.

I'm going to keep this simple......we suck. DAL had great chances to do something the last two years, and that was the best we could be. Its going to look like the mid-late 80s now.

Wow! I am gloomy on this single game, but not on the season or the direction of the team.

I suppose we shall see.
