The first game of the year never shows that. Especially after sitting most of the starters in preseason.
That's fair, it usually takes a few weeks for teams to settle in. I guess my point is I don't want or need false hope. While neither team will be running full octane they are still a good measuring stick in principle.

Would feel better about the game if it was at the Art Gallery . Then again the Eagles first game is in Brazil . At some point don’t Prescott & MM have to be involved in a big road win against quality to justify fat extensions .

Idk about an ugly loss but I think it will be close and a ton of mistakes imo. Dak sitting all preseason, old men running the ball, and lamb missing all of TC is not a recipe for success

The high temperature in Cleveland next Sunday is 65. It will be like practicing in Oxnard for us.

Don't fall for that Ohio trap.

Rain and 20 mph winds...right off those devil lakes, sure as hell.

Whether we win or lose on Sunday is not an indication either way on how this team will fare going forward. I expect this to be an ugly, sloppy game. This is preseason for most starters, and no matter what anyone says the intensity and timing of a real game can't be duplicated in practices. I think we lose this game for a few reasons that may not already have been mentioned. First, this is the third time in the last four years, where we will be starting a season with a change to a coach - Quinn back in 2021; change in OC from Kellen Moore in 2022; and now a new DC in Zimmer for this season. I believe that teams that begin the season with coaching changes or significant changes to personnel (I.e., a new starting QB, revamped OL and/or DL) are at a disadvantage earlier on than teams that come in reasonably intact from the prior season. The second reason to be concerned is the number of unknowns: how will this defense perform under Zimmer? Have we fixed our run defense? How will our two rookies on the OL hold up against their defense. The last reason - and perhaps most important - why I don't feel confident against the Browns, or even this season, is McCarthy. That embarrassing loss to the Packers in January really jaded me. I can't think of a time when I saw a Cowboys team so ill-prepared for a game. And I am concerned on whether that still remains an issue. If this team struggles early and gets behind early in this game, how will they respond?

I might now be up to 20 reasons we lose. I see this on the scoreboard: 48-6. And a 3-14 season that follows.

You failed to mention the #1 reason being Dak can't adjust to pressure.
Dak Prescott is the only quarterback to complete over 60% of his passes under pressure this season. Under pressure, Prescott ranks first in completion percentage (64.5%), passer rating (103.5), and CPOE (+10.8%), according to NFL Next Gen Stats.

This was last year BTW . You guys really need to update your narratives.

First game of the year, anything could happen to any team. But, IF it is ugly for us, I think the likelihood of things going downhill for the season are greater than a convincing win would be followed by a good season.

Pressure is going to be intense following last years debacle if followed up by another in the opener.

I think it is a close and ugly game but we should not be assuming a loss already. Watson has been garbage since going to the Browns, and they won't have Chubb. I predict a low scoring affair 20-13 Dallas.

Sorry boys, but I'm not feeling it for Sunday.

1. Dallas was 2-4 last year when facing winning teams...before Packers in playoffs
2. Cleveland had 2nd best defense last year (DVOA rating)
3. The dog pound is loud and emotional & Browns were 8-1 at home last year
4. Guyton facing Myles Garrett in his very first game is too much
5. Dallas has lost 8 of it's last 11 games on grass
6. Cleveland has one of the most complete rosters in NFL
7. First game of season = sloppy. Cleveland can be damp and windy.
8. Browns were the 6th best Rushing team WITHOUT Chubb......guess what our defense has been unable to stop last time we saw them?

And? We have a legit shot at winning the NFCE, what does that even mean?
it means they are a top team in a very tough competitive division that we are playing at their house which means there should be concern to it being a very tough game to win - what is so hard about that to comprehend? It was a pretty straightforward statement.
