it means they are a top team in a very tough competitive division that we are playing at their house which means there should be concern to it being a very tough game to win - what is so hard about that to comprehend? It was a pretty straightforward statement.
There should be no "concern" over the first game of the season, no team is going to be fine turned at this point. In fact, if the big bad Browns are as good as you seem to think they are then you'd rather play them early in the year.

It’s a tough opening game for anyone actually. Chubb being out is a big help. I think he would gash this defense. I see the Dallas offense really struggling week one. Very little game action for the starters during preseason, the typical Dallas rust, and Cleveland’s D makes that a tough match up. MG vs Guyton is scary. Yeah this looks like a “L”.

A win would be something to be pumped about.

I'm just happy we start off against some legitimate competition. No more ****** nonsense, beating up on tomato cans. This game should show us who we are, for better or worse.

Beating up on "tomato cans"? There is no such thing as tomato cans in the NFL. Last I checked, coaches and players says it is VERY hard to win games at this level. Every team has well paid professionals.

Here's just a few examples to kill that "tomato can" myth.

1. The 10.5 pt underdog Raiders beat the Chiefs.

2. The 10 pt underdog Bengals beat the Jaguars.

3. The 11.5 pt underdog Cardinals beat the Cowboys.

4. The 12 pt underdog Cardinals beat the Eagles.

5. The 13.5 pt underdog Titans beat the Dolphins.

6. The Browns, with a backup quarterback beat the 49ers.

With that said, win or lose, it will NOT show us who we really are. We're not at full strength and neither are the Browns. We also have players that will be rusty for lack of preseason snaps together and the same probably can be said about the Browns.

That whole "tomato can" bs is just a myth.

The Cowboys certainly have the talent to win this game, and the Browns are a similar team with a lot of talent but a lot of question marks as well, but honestly I'm expecting to be 0-1 to start the year. Another thing I would add to the list is that defensive scheme changes can take time for players to really adapt.

If this team does lose week 1, dont overreact though. This team has two high ceiling rookies starting on the OL that should get better with time, should get better on the back end of the defense as Bland returns and Diggs gets more reps after his injury. This is a good team, but I seem them being very up and down early on.

Sorry boys, but I'm not feeling it for Sunday.

1. Dallas was 2-4 last year when facing winning teams...before Packers in playoffs
2. Cleveland had 2nd best defense last year (DVOA rating)
3. The dog pound is loud and emotional & Browns were 8-1 at home last year
4. Guyton facing Myles Garrett in his very first game is too much
5. Dallas has lost 8 of it's last 11 games on grass
6. Cleveland has one of the most complete rosters in NFL
7. First game of season = sloppy. Cleveland can be damp and windy.
Another thing to be wary of… Deshaun Watson might get it all back this season. Never been the same since the Houston mess. If he continues this erratic play, could also be a reason the Cowboys win although it would help to have more depth on defensive line and Bland healthy.

And? We have a legit shot at winning the NFCE, what does that even mean?

I never called them the big bad browns but they are the home team, have a stout defense and a very good running game, in sloppy weather facing our team that is historically challenged on grass. You can keep drinking the koolaid all you want dude but this is a tough matchup and cause for concern

I think we lose this game too. But keep in mind this is week 1. Anyone can win. But this is a really good test for our rookie LT.

The Cowboys can win Sunday. This is still a talented Cowboys team capable of getting a win in Cle. But they are going to have play better than they have in season openers in the McCarthy era. The Cowboys are 1-3 under Big Mac in openers. And most NFL teams come out sluggish on offense early in the season.

To me the biggest challenge the Cowboys will have Sunday is their need to adjust to two things on the fly:
1. Having 4-5 rookies getting significant playing time on the road in their first NFL regular season action where the intensity and game planning are way different than a PS game.
2. Implementing a new defensive scheme with 4 new starters.

Doesn‘t mean we can’t win. We absolutely can. Just keeping it real about the challenges this team faces to start the season.

Cowboys win this game going away. Watson hasn't played much ball over the last few years and when he did he was less than impressive. Yes, Garrett against a rookie LT could be an issue, then again, the rookie gets to go against the next best rusher in the league every single day at practise. There is also ways to scheme the protections to help a LT. Guyton will be fine. I fully expect a close game in the first half, then pull away in the 4th.. Cowboys 24-10.

The half of this board that wants the Cowboys to lose refuses to acknowledge the bolded.

Maybe Watson is the version from 2019 we saw...but we haven't seen that guy in 5 years. The idea that the Cowboys offense would struggle any more than the Browns is preposterous.

A big majority of this board wants the Cowboys to win. Pointing out the challenges doesn’t equate “wanting the Cowboys to lose.”

1. Both teams are undefeated right now so uhhhhhh (I get what you're saying though)
3. I can see that being an issue we can only wish our fans had that kind of emotion to help dictate a game!!
4. We don't like to help our OT's out in games that they're struggling in. I can see him getting a few good reps in against him, but others it'll probably look like nobody's blocking him. Wish we had a PASS rusher that could DICTATE games......................................
7. What's offense????? Where's our offense??????? lol, defense will help keep us in the game for a bit

Sunday will be mass misery. Sinking despair. Shrill howls in the game threads will burst out to "CUT EVERY PLAYER. FIRE EVERY COACH!"

But later in the season the tone will change...might we rise? Can we rise? Then: "This team is back on track!"
loooooooooool if only they'll stay consistent!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Honestly it started in the off season

I will add this twist:

If the Cowboys do some how win Sunday it will exceed the quality of any on their 2023 regular season wins...in scale of difficulty.

We beat up weak teams last year, without a single great road performance vs. a top team. A win in Cleveland would spell something very different, if that unlikely event were to occur.

Popcorn anyone for an ugly win?
win a tough game, then will lose to a team that's started out 0-4

Watson hasn’t played much and hasn’t been good since Houston. With Chubb being out it’s also beneficial. We need to contain Cooper, limit the turnovers and we should steal an early W

The how is how we do it.

We beat the Browns, Saints, Ravens. Then lay a tire against the Giants, Steelers, Lions and 49ers

Also Cleveland has a good offensive line against Dallas's questionable defensive front.

But, I think it also depends on Watson, the Cleveland QB.

Some teams that were good last year will be bad this year and the other way around. We have been fairly consistent in regular season. Hoping for a play or 2 that sparks us, we need to gain confidence. Especially in our trenches..
