Nice add, WPB...kind of hard to argue for Eli, and we already knew the real reason...

Romo, because he's an above average starting QB unlike Eli.

yeah that helmet catch was clutch....

Ha Ha. The pro E-Lie crowd, the E-Lie Lovers Club here will tell you how clutch E-Lie was as he stumbled around, tripped over his own feet, and threw the ball up for grabs. Then when that crap is kicked to the curb they bring up the "other" clutch play near the end of the "other" Super Bowl as if it somehow vindicates the clutchness of the Tyree helmet catch as pinpoint precision passing by an elite QB.

Manning has a career completion rating of 58 percent, Romo has 64.6.

Romo's career high for a season is 69.5, Manning's is 62.9. Romo's been below 62.9 only once in his career...

And for these reasons alone I'd pick Romo for this question every single time.

Eli won't even sniff 70% for the season.

They plan a lot more dinking and dunking with the new OC, so the completion rate for sure will go up.
But I can't imagine a VERY jag completion rate guy like Manning ever making 70%.

Then again, Romo won't get 70% either. In fact, I bet we go down field more this year.

Yes, I was thinking they must be planning a lot of short passes to have any intentions of Eli completing 70 percent.

Living in NY, I watched Eli play every game last year. He's done and I think the Giants are beginning to realize this.

I was listening to BSPN radio and caught the end of Mike & Mike. A caller from NY said he was a big Giants fan, season tix holder for 40 yrs. The guy was whining over what he perceived to be nobody giving the Giants a chance this year. Lamenting the grave injustice of it all and how E-Lie has some really great receivers and he thinks this will be a really good year for the team.

Is this guy by himself, or do other delusional NYers feel the same way?

Seem like Coughlin is setting up Eli for failure. Should have given him a less lofty goal. Perhaps something simple like throw more TDs than INTs?

It's the OC that set the goal.

He thinks the short passing game can get you to 70%.
But I'm thinking this is not Steve Young here; Eli is very inconsistent to say the least.

Most of the people I talk to here say that Eli's best days are behind him and that the Giants are headed in the wrong direction. It's kind of nice actually.

Looks like Brett Favre's stats. He led the league in interceptions in a similar manner all the way the Superbowl, 3 MVPs, and almost certainly a first ballot HOF induction.

That is the only similarity between Brett Favre and Eli Manning.

Favre finished in the top ten in passer rating 11 times during his career and 6 times in the top five. Eli has finished in the top ten in passer rating 1 time during his career and 0 times in the top five.

Favre finished in the top ten in completion percentage 13 times during his career and 6 times in the top five. Eli has finished in the top ten in completion percentage 1 time during his career and 0 times in the top five.

Romo finished in the top ten in passer rating 7 times during his career and 3 times in the top five.

Romo finished in the ten in completion percentage 5 times during his career and 3 times in the top five.

Who cares, Romo and Eli will be sitting at home when the playoffs roll around.
