8 bands who continue to be snubbed by the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame

For sure. I was just transitioning from pop to rock when that first album hit and it is one of the first albums I spent my paper route money on. I agree that if you're going to put Joan Jett in you have to put Boston in. Alice in Chains, as well. "My" R&R HoF would be more exclusive and longevity would be a factor, though.

You might be able to talk me into Boston because of the groundbreaking stuff Scholtz did, though. Maybe.
Ya at the rate they are inducting people wont be long until almost everyone is in. I can't wait, Poison for RRHOF 2029.

I never understood why people get mad when other genres get into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. Yeah, I get that it's called rock & roll, but rock has always been more than just a sound. It’s a movement, an energy, a rebellion that shaped the future of music. It helped give birth to other genres and inspired countless artists. The Hall of Fame isn’t just about a specific genre; it’s about influence, impact, and legacy. If an artist has shaped music, redefined what’s possible, or inspired generations, they belong there.

The Biggest RRHOF snub is Grand Funk Railroad.
Heavy Metal should have its own HOF

The only other genre's of music that belongs in RRHOF is blues and Motown.

I think people are missing my point about the HoF. I am not suggesting that any of the inductees are bad, I am just saying the selection process for a HoF should be more stringent. There are lots of good players not in the football HoF or the baseball HoF. And those Halls go back a lot further than the R&R HoF. No one would argue The Beatles and Stones don't belong in the HoF. But I would argue that equating the Beatles with the Ramones is comical.

I'm not a Ramones fan, but they have a rather large following. Would I put them in the HoF? I don't know, I'd have to research their album sales, influence, etc.

I like Boston, but a truer description of their music was never made.
"More Than a Feeling", "Peace of Mind", "Foreplay/Long Time", "Rock and Roll Band", "Smokin'", "Don't Look Back", "A Man I'll Never Be", "Hitch a Ride", "Party", "Amanda" and "Feelin' Satisfied"

Very good songs, but many did sound alike

Fwiw, I liked the "hair band" Cinderella (Tom Keiffer et al) better than Poison.

And no, that isn't an RRHOF endorsement.

Speaking of "Hair Bands". Which ones, if any, got in the RRHOF?

The Scorpions being considered at all?
