Oh yeah, I'm sure there were one or two. I know I responded to your post, but it wasn't really directed at you specifically. I do think he is not nearly as consistently productive as he should be, given his physical talent and I suspect some of the reasons are what I stated above (and I think you alluded to earlier). However, that physical dominance serves him (and us) really well in the red zone, where it's more about beating your guy mano y mano than play calling or schemes. You cannot put a price on that type of physical dominance. The Pats have it with Gronk. The Lions have it with Megatron. A few others. But there are not many teams that have truly "go-to" red zone options like Dez. That's worth a LOT because its one thing to generate a lot of yards between the 20s. But if you're not scoring in the red zone, you're not winning.

Yeah I hear ya.

Like I said. Love Dez.
He retires a cowboy!

Dez Bryant is an extremely effective, but very limited, wide receiver. He has to be spoon fed the game because he doesn't understand the cerebral side of his position.

That's why the Cowboys are reluctant to pay him too much.

I never thot i would read a sentence that would half the words "Dez" and "cerebral."
Much like you wood not half the words "Gimmetheball!" and "anilitical" though I try very hard.

So your saying he's stupid and you have inside knowledge of the workings of the front office? How else would you know why dallas is reluctant to pay him big money?

Wow. Dez has had several drops this year.

He's had too many drops for three years running.

Per Pro Football Focus, Dez has 5 drops this year, which is tied for 24th in the NFL. He had 11 drops last year, which tied for 5th, and 11 drops in 2012, which tied for 7th.

Bryant has led the team in drops in all these seasons.

Dez is a very gifted wide receiver, so I have extremely high expectations for him. This is especially true catching the football due to his hand size, coordination and physical ability.

He should catch almost everything that gets in his zip code unless the defender makes a great play to break up the pass.

Bryant just doesn't come up with as many passes as I expect. Dez's catch percentage, 62.9%, has him 60th in the NFL this season at this point. He was 61st last year (59.6%) and tied for 29th in 2012 (67.2%).

I'm a huge fan of Bryant, and perhaps I'm nitpicking, but I can't help that I think so highly of his ability that I expect him to make more plays given so many opportunities.

PFF has another stat that supports my feeling.

Wide receive drop rate, which shows who hangs on to balls deemed catchable.

Dez Bryant is currently ranked 21st, he was 31st last year and 22nd in 2012.

I want better than this.

Yes. Again. I love Dez. But.... Two things:

1. Like you said he can be taken out of games and...
2. If we are being completely honest, we have all said at least 2-3 times this year, "Dez you need to make that catch"

No disagreement with me or anyone that's being true to themselves. The Commanders and Cardinals game were two of those games for me. Weeden sucked but Dez did him no favor a few times.

Isn't it pretty evident? He wants more than Jordy Nelson, who is outperforming Dez and is a more complete and much faster receiver.

Dez will likely get franchised if Jay-Z doesn't drop his demands.

I respect you as a poster erod but that is completely your opinion and not a drop of fact in that

You don't think Jordy Nelson is having a better year than Dez? And it is a fact that Dez is asking for more money than the contract Nelson signed.

Jordy Nelson is a product of having the greatest qb in the nfl throwing you the ball. Receivers leave green bay and become garbage. When is the last time you've heard anything from Greg Jennings? Jordy is typically running free by himself Dez gets double teamed off rip on almost every play. You have to account for Dez way more than Jordy.

Jordy Nelson has the benefit of playing with Aaron Rodgers and a great offensive scheme. All packers receivers look great. Eric Decker sure looked great in Denver with manning and a good scheme, but looks bad with the jets. Get a real offensive mind in here. Dez could do the same things as Nelson. Outside of qb, I don't like to pay players more than 10 mil per year. It's just negotiations, I don't think dez is stupid like you seem to think.
