Wichita Police released the 911 calls stemming from last week’s incident involving Cowboys running backJoseph Randle, in which he’s alleged to have threatened the mother of his child.

According to the tapes, obtained by NBC 5 in Dallas, the woman described a scene of Randle threatening her with a gun and breaking the window out of her car, before calling back later to say everything had been worked out.

“He pointed the gun in front of the mother of his child and he pointed it in front of this other female, . . . we have our child here and he has a lot of weed,” the woman said on the tape. “Joseph Randle just broke a window, he pointed a gun in front of somebody’s car and then he busted her window open, . . . he plays for the Cowboys.”

Maybe Randle is just trying to work a new angle for repping a product. He has enough undies, but maybe he needed a windshield repaired. I am sure his agent is working out a deal with Safelite as we speak. Mans gotta make a living!

Josh Brent is here.

I'm kind of tired of reading the "cut this idiot" rhetoric. He hasn't been charged with anything and nobody knows what really happened. He wasn't arrested. He hasn't been convicted of anything. As of now, this is an argument and an accusation, that's pretty much it.

This. I don't think he's making good decisions but nothing has been proven and he's a free man at this point. You can't cut him because some one said this or that. If he's arrested and things get worse than yeah, he should be gone.

You guys care too much about what happens in players personal lives. I watch them to play football nothing else. You guys need to remember players are not role models they are over privileged jocks with a lot of money, that's it.

I still don't buy that.

It would be horribly hypocritical for Josh Brent to still be around after 2 DUIs, one of which resulted in the death of a teammate, and a drug/alcohol infraction (can't remember which) after the incident. Josh Brent doesn't have a lot of value to this team, and they've stuck by him. It would send a bad message to not give the same benefit to another player.

In today's NFL he's guilty by the publics standards. I honestly don't care I'll be the first to tell you I want Greg hardy on this team next year... but for a back up RB to be a knuckle head making headlines screw that and screw him

Woman who called 911 on Joseph Randle tried to wave off cops
According to the tapes, obtained by NBC 5 in Dallas, the woman described a scene of Randle threatening her with a gun and breaking the window out of her car, before calling back later to say everything had been worked out.

“He pointed the gun in front of the mother of his child and he pointed it in front of this other female, . . . we have our child here and he has a lot of weed,” the woman said on the tape. “Joseph Randle just broke a window, he pointed a gun in front of somebody’s car and then he busted her window open, . . . he plays for the Cowboys.”

She ended the first call when she said Randle was approaching, then later called back to tell police they didn’t need to report.

“I was just talking to someone. I’m the woman that called about Joseph Randle,” she said. “Um, you guys don’t have to worry about it. We talked it out. We just talked it out, it’s fine. Everything’s fine. We just talked to him and everything’s fine now.

“Everything’s fine now, you don’t have to worry about it though. Just, please don’t come.”

This just sounds like something somebody would say if they wanted to get him in trouble. What does weed have to do with her being threatened.

Why did she hang around if she felt threatened?

I feel like the increased awareness and media attention of Domestic Violence with Pro Athletes is going to cause many of them to be extorted with threats of calling the Police.

I don't because Brent plays on a position that has high value especially on our team where we lack difference makers. RBs are dime a dozen especially Randal who is a nitch player

Hard to argue that. It is.

Our coaching staff has almost explicitly stated that 1-Techs on defense are not valued highly.

...

Yes. Josh Brent is here. I don't know where you stand concerning Brent but some people just can't let it go. The Josh Brent situation has NOTHING to do with Randle.

Josh Brent has always been known as a good teammate. The other players really like him. Like it or not, Josh Brent has paid his due to society. Nobody hurts more than Brent over the death of his best friend who was like a brother to him. Josh Brent has been forgiven by the mother whose son died while Brent was driving intoxicated.

I would have let Brent go a long time ago, for the exact reason that it sets a precedent of being way too forgiving of guys with off-the-field issues.

It has everything to do with Randle, and every guy who does something dumb off the field with JG as the head coach, from here on out.

:huh:Its wild how many people have condemned a player who has been only accused and not proven guilty of anything. Why not wait till everything is sorted out?

Cut this nobody already.

There are 75 Joseph Randles in the league. Go get a different one.

For that matter, I think Ryan Williams is better anyway.

Excerpts from Ms. Jacobs' initial 911 call
  • Can you please not say who's calling? I feel really threatened.
  • We are not leaving until somebody gets here.
  • He has a gun in his trunk.
  • Mandy, the girl that he broke the windows to, is bleeding. No, she does not need an ambulance. They are starting to leave right now because they are scared.
  • I really can't talk right now because he is coming.
  • I just don't feel comfortable right now.
  • He's coming! I have to go! He's coming! I'm scared! Bye! Bye!
Ms. Jacobs is frightened when she first calls the police. She is frightened because the father of her baby possesses a firearm, brought a pane of glass, and physically harmed her friend. She is frightened to the point that she will not leave the hotel parking lot where the baby father is still lurking even though she has a means of escape. She knows the firearm remains located nearby for the baby father to retrieve. She is so frightened that she does not attempt to flee from him as he re-enters the parking lot or allow the police to hear what was about to happen, but is polite enough to the 911 dispatcher to say bye. Twice.

I eagerly await the legal ramifications of this... whatever you want to call this. So. The 911 call gives the exact location of the firearm used to threaten Ms. Jacobs and possibly others.

Question.

Why didn't the police ask Randle to open his trunk after they arrived at the scene?

Id cut him because I don't believe he has the mental fortitude to continue on the straight and narrow and do what is needed to improve this team.

He can't be trusted to start, his decision making is poor, and he plays a position that is easy to replace. Id pull the cord on this guy.

He was a headcase at OSU, he stole underwear and cologne, went off on his teammates in jail, had a confrontation with Witten on the practice field, and now this.

It's sorted out. He's a punk, and his teammates detest him. Bye.
