The 49ers would love us using Micah to spy CM. That would take him away from what he does best which is pass rushing I don’t mind the idea of a spy but I’d prefer to use Hooker in that role.

What if Micah spied Christian McCaffrey the entire game?
The benefit of Micah as a game-wrecking pass rusher would be nullified, but McCaffrey would be erased with a 240 lb player with CB speed.

Is that something you would do as defensive coordinator? Or does Dallas give away their pass-rush advantage with this approach?

Maybe this becomes the halftime adjustment if necessary.
I wouldn't say all game but I think they should make him an off the ball linebacker 50-50 this game versus the whole 80-20 thing where he's just rushing the passer all the time they need to and some of these games with teams that work the edges with good running games and a lot of motion they need to have him as a real linebacker instead of an outside linebacker slash defensive end in some of these games I think would have been better off in Arizona had they done that....

No play an extra safety instead of 2 linebackers to spy. Micah needs to make sure Purdy stays in constant state of panic

Not really he came out of college as an off the ball linebacker that could rush the passer and we turned him into a pass rushing outside linebacker...
I wouldn't say all game but I think they should make him an off the ball linebacker 50-50/60-40 this game versus the whole 80-20 thing where he's just rushing the passer all the time they need to and some of these games with teams that work the edges with good running games and a lot of motion they need to have him as a real linebacker instead of an outside linebacker slash defensive end in some of these games I think would have been better off in Arizona had they done that....

What happens is like Philadelphia like Arizona and like some other teams with mobile quarterbacks or their offense can work the edges with motion and guys that can beat you in the backfield they run right at Micah Parsons and they basically neutralize him he gets caught in the wash there is no rushing the quarterback if he's constantly either moving away or right at him all game Philadelphia Eagles do this really really well.. He is basically being put in rush hour traffic and they're just running right at them a lot of big dudes are basically blocking him from doing his job as a pass rusher not every team can do it but this is the kind of team that you should sometimes not maybe use him as a spy but you gotta get him more off the ball linebacker and keep him off the line of scrimmage and out of the wash at times.. This dude can read and react he's supposed to be a very good linebacker as well not just a pass rusher and I wanna see him do that every now and again not all game but they should be putting him more in that position against certain teams...

really you mean like the extra safeties we tried to use in Arizona and against teams like Philly other teams with mobile quarterbacks and or run a lot of edge plays get people in motion they usually run right at Micah Parsons when he's playing defensive end he gets caught in the wash it would be who the Cowboys to play him more off the ball linebacker against certain teams not all game but a lot of the game they should get him some linebacker carries so he can read and react versus come up field get caught in the wash and be so out of position he can't make it back he's not affecting the game like that what happened in Arizona?? This happens against certain teams I'm telling you it will behoove them to get him more work there... He doesn't just need to be moved around along the line he should play a little bit of off the ball linebacker as well in my opinion..

Pass rush won't be as effective against Purdy. His passes are short and quick. What we need to do is get a lead on them where Purdy has to throw longer passes to get back into the game. Then we got his Purdy Butt.

It’s fine for a handful of snaps to throw the 49ers offense off balance but using Micah to spy all game is like running nothing but screen plays for Randy Moss. Sure could be effective but not like Moss running post and Go routes. And yes use safeties to spy because it’s our best option at the moment. they can both cover and have the sideline to sideline speed. LVE has lost a step and Clarke is still up and down with his play to rely on. Should be Overshown but he’s gone for the season.

Here's the strategy. Somebody needs to show up pre-game at the stadium with Micah's Trans Am all beat to hell and say the 49ers did it. Let Micah inspect it before the game.
Lmao Goldie Hawn in Wild Cats righr?

Would’ve been Overshown…maybe Kearse or Wilson now…?
Whoever will wrap up properly
His major impact is YAC esp with poor tackling
The niners have no magic, they beat you with misdirection, discipline, consistency and physicality
Thats why their games are close early and then they pull away in Q4 because they have beaten the other team up by then much like the 90s Cowboys

You don’t spy a RB, it doesn’t make sense for several reasons. You don’t take away your best pass rusher to spy. You also don’t use a guy on the line to spy since they’ll get caught up in the wash more often than not. Also Parsons isn’t covering CMC in the open field on a pass route.
Parsons will see plenty of CMC since they’re going to run right at him. That’s the best way to attack Parsons IMO.

Can't Micah do both? 1st Down (spies McCaffrey), 2nd down, mostly spies, but with pass-rush option, third down pass rush.
