Yes, we all want to win the super bowl. Yes we all have gone thru the horrible disappointments.

The contant negativity because of it....i can't stand it. I would much rather be positive and enjoy our wins and be disappointed in the playoffs(if that happens) than constantly have to be told why we shouldn't be happy or reminded we haven't won in 20+ years.

It is OLD.

I view the regular season as a 17-course meal, and playoffs as dessert. This year has been a great meal, with or without a good dessert. Sure I'd like to get something sweet at the end, but I'm not gonna let anything spoil my dinner.

Anyway...my view.

I will make an observation:
I agree this is a team game and QBs get too much of the glory or criticism.
But:
If dak had a better history of performaning well in our playoff losses, I think we would not get the level of criticism he currently gets.

:hammer:

Not much more to say. Win the Tourney games. We've seen everything else.
I like that Prescott and the offense is stepping it up.
Would like to see the whole team step it up in the playoffs, including the run D.
Staubach and Aikman are the standard bearers.
White and Meredith won big playoff games, but never the big dance.
All the rest are, well, all the rest.

Dak brought his team back in his first playoff game - the one "rOmO sHoUlD'vE pLaYeD" - with over 300 yards and 3 touchdowns.

The defense allowed four TD drives of 75 yards or more, and couldn't even get the game to overtime with 30 seconds left to play.

His next loss was in LA, where the defense couldn't stop the Rams from rushing for 273 freakin' yards and gave up 30 points.

The only playoff loss Dak has had where the finger could be legitimately be pointed at him, was versus San Francisco.

That's always the perception, and I get it, but a QB can only control what's in his hands.

If the defense gets trucked for 273 rushing yards, gives up 30+ points, that's not on him.

Fun fact, the Cowboys have never won a playoff game when the opponent scored 30+ points. That includes Aikman and Staubach. It's a team game.
Great find amidst the factoids.

Personally I don’t see why we should be miserable during a pretty successful regular season just because the specter of failure in the playoffs. Of course I am disappointed in Dallas’ ability to get over the hump when it counts most, but I will at least enjoy the moments where they have success.

Arguable, but I'd still go with White.
How many of us older dudes remember what an outstanding punter Danny White was? He was talented, and probably executed more fake punts than anyone ever. Maybe there are statistics that reveal it, but it seemed like there was one every game..

Sorry I cannot agree with this. There are many great players who never won a championship because they landed on the wrong team. This aint basketball. One guy can only do so much.. A QB is standing on the sidelines for 2/3 of the game so this insistence on putting it all on him is misguided at best. I know it's easy to say "___ QB has ___ record" but it is ALWAYS about the team.. Always has been.. always will be. Yes the QB is in position to influence the game the most of any single player.. But again.. he's standing on the sidelines for 2/3 of the game and there are 47 other players suited up for the game. We really need to move away from that whole QB record thing. I know it will never happen.. but it needs to.

I agree with you. The Cowboys lack of success in the playoffs is because they're not the better team. It's not easy to go on the road and beat the better team. It's not like the Cowboys are dropping games they should win in the playoffs.

Also, our NFCE record isn't going to mean a hill of beans when we lose to Philly in the divisional round. If they get to the divisional round.

You can say a lot of things about Prescott, but one thing that is hard to ignore is his record against NFC East teams.

In his career, Prescott is 27-6 against the NFC East during the regular season including being 18-1 in his last 19 games against them.

Unfrotunately, that means little in the playoffs because the Cowboys keep finding ways to disappoint everyone when the playoffs start.

The fact that his record has been that impressive against NFC East teams combined with hardly any playoff success is why some fans are not fans of Prescott.

I know it feels good feeling some sort of vindication against the Dak haters when the Cowboys and Prescott win games like the one today, but it is what we have come to expect during the regular season.

I want badly for the Cowboys to win a Super Bowl and it would be great to see Dak Prescott lead the team to winning one, but until he and the Cowboys break the the pattern of post-season failures nothing has changed.

Like most Cowboys fans, the negativity wears on me like it wears on everyone else, but so does the frustration of the same failures occurring year after year.

Maybe this year will be THE year or maybe it will be yet another great regular season that ends quickly in the post-season like we have endured for 27 years with a variety of quarterbacks including Romo and Prescott.

Dak is a great guy and the kind of guy you want to be your quarterback and lead your team.

What he is not yet is a real "winner". Winners win championships, not divisions or wildcards as those just the things that get you into the real games.

I would love for Prescott and the Cowboys to win a Super Bowl this season, but until that happens, some fans are not going to be happy and it's hard to blame them .. especially when I am one of them.
Dak’s game today was a microcosm of his career. He was really good for part of it and had mental lapses in others. It’s hard to celebrate beating a backup QB today after the Eagles have pretty much wrapped up the division.

If we beat the Eagles in the playoffs with them playing their backup I’ll take that. But today was not as meaningful as it should have been. Dak pissed off wins against the Packers and Jags which really cost us a legit shot at the division.

Huh? Dak's first playoff game as a rookie:
302 yards, 3 TDs, 1 INT.

Higher QB RTG than Aaron Rodgers had in that game.
How were the second and last years games?
I don't seem to remember stellar performances
But my memory is honestly not the best.
Just don't remember these being great games by him.

January 2019 Divisional Playoffs:
Prescott, 20-32, 1 TD, 0 INT, 266 yards | 84.4 rating
Goff, 15-28, 0 TD, 0 INT, 186 yards | 74.4 rating

Rams out rushed Cowboys 273 to 50

I guess the haters have short memories and are going off daks most recent playoff game?
Whatever the reason, there is a very vocal anti dak crowd here.
To be clear I am not one of them.
