Nice Destroyer. As far as the BC Rich,I remember back in the day a friend of mine bought one of those from a guy who clearly did not know what he had.Deal of the century.guitar plus HSC for virtually pennies.

Those old BC Rich NJ Series (when they were actually made in Nagoya Japan) are really starting to become collectors. Even though they are imports the original NJs are considered to be high quality guitars now among BC Rich collectors.

I remember you telling me that a few months ago. That is a pretty solid guitar and I only paid 325.00 brand new for it sometime in the late '80's. It's funny because back then it was considered the cheapy, while the neck through was the big thing that everyone wanted. How much are those things fetching or are they still in production? BC Rich took an odd turn in the 90's and started making some pretty cheap looking guitars.

That is nice. What is HSC? Ibanez had a weird path too. From cribbing Gibson style guitars to those Roadsters to the Vai kind of guitars like you had there, which were pretty comfortable guitars. Very smooth playing with those. Ever tried a Universe? That was kind of odd to play.

My brother had an Ibanez Les Paul and I absolutely loved it. The fool sold it and I wish he hadn't. I've never sold a guitar, I get too personal with them and can't part with them.

I see if I can ask a buddy about it and get back to you later.

It is not the ideal one that most Bich collectors would like although the Kahler on it is a good thing. Most like the full electronic package on them.

As far as making an odd turn...they went through some different ownerships and the quality dropped off a good deal. Along with the imports no longer being made in Nagoya Japan (the NJ) although they kept the NJ tag.

Also if you could send me a PM with the serial number I would appreciate it. The buddy I am going to ask about it keeps a Serial Number log of BC Rich guitars.

Thanks just PM'd you.

I never used the tremolo all that much. It just came with it and that was fine for me. The only thing I had beyond guitar and amp was a wah pedal which I somehow lost.

Is that something someone who has been playing for 30 years should know??? :laugh2: Really, I feel kind of silly not knowing that.

I don't play but I've always really liked the sound that Peter Buck and Johnny Marr got out of their Rickenbacker 330's. And to me it's just plain awesome looking.

Man I love Ibanez RG series guitars, but I'm not sure how I feel about that pick guard. :laugh2:

All black ones are freaking sexy! :) Needs an ebony fretboard to match.

How much did you pay for your first guitar?

I bought my first when I was 16, at a music store, used for $100. It was a Hondo flying V. Heavier than a lead balloon, never stayed in tune and would electricute me every once in a while  . One day I was looking through another music store when I saw a used all-wood-grain-colored Strat on sale for $150. I had to have it. I could picture how I would convert it to an Eddie Van Halen replica and couldn't get it out of my mind. I went back the next day with my flying V and asked if they'd take it as a trade in on the Strat. They said my guitar and $20 will do it. So I saved $30 and got the guitar I always wanted. Now it's a '74 Japanese Squire Strat....a very cheap version of the iconic guitar, but a Strat none the less. I've got a D'Marzio Humbucker in the bridge and 2 singles and sounds raunchy and rough...perfect for oldschool classic rock.

My mom bought my first guitar and amp in 1989 for my 16th birthday.

I got a 1989 Fender Stratocaster Squire II that was black with no pick guard, HSS pickup configuration and a maple fretboard. The amp was a 30 watt Crate. I wish I still had it. (the guitar) I saw an identical guitar (year, paint, pickups, fretboard) on Ebay for $950 right after I bought my Les Paul. If I hadn't purchased the Les Paul, I would have bought that guitar off Ebay.

I replaced the 30 watt amp, about six months later with a Crate GX212 with Celestion speakers. When I gave up playing guitar back around 2000, I sold the amp to a buddy who still has it. I might have to buy that back from him since he says it mainly just uses his petals connected to his computer now.

This is the exact guitar, but not mine

Bought and old Cort Strat copy and gorilla amp from a friend as my first guitar.

A year or two later I traded that in on a charvel (low end model).

My sister actually bought me my first guitar. An Ibanez Destroyer, (not the one pictured) for I don't know how much. My first buy was the Rich Bich for $325.00. whens I was 19 or 20. I don't even remember what I paid for the Destroyer I posted the pic of.

I hated the after market guard, but funny enough the guy who bought it from me told me he loved it,and I turned a profit on that axe.

I'm looking to buy the rg 350 dx in white.Had too many black guitars already.
