Hey Silver I thought DMC was better than Randle last night. What are your thoughts on that ?

I thought Randle looked good but he didn't appear to hit the hole as decisive as DMAC and Dunbar. With that he had a ok stat line considering the amount of touches. Two runs really stuck out to me. The positive one where he was ankle tackled at the last second. I think that would have been a big gain if he doesn't go down there. The other one was when he ran right into the line when there appeared to be a very nice cut back lane to his left. In short a young back learning what it takes to be a consistent starter. I don't think he will have that title long if he doesn't figure it out fast.

Where are these dime a dozen guys at now? A rb is a dime a dozen :lmao:

Man the cowboys better hope DMAC can stay healthy a carry the load. Obviously we see Randle is nothing more than a change of pace back, hr should not be starting. Dunbar is fine as a scatback.

We're still here.

Randle wasn't all that bad. Actually, the running game was working. But the running game/time-consuming drives don't work unless you score 6 instead of 3.

Had we converted touchdowns and not turned the ball over, I think this game would have been 35-9. Randle may not been Murray, but he ran well, IMO. Don't know whether he can keep it up over the course of 16 games.

But the offensive line was as advertised, and even better - especially having not played together in the preseason.

After the game I really thought that Dallas needs to let DmC get more carries and short passes !!!

I was saying this in the game thread when people were going off. The ball was knocked out of his hand.

He really only had 1 true drop from what I could see. On 2 plays the defender got his hand on the ball and knocked it away. Even on the 1 drop it would have been a very difficult catch as he was running from 1 defender right into another. He was attempted to avoid the defender in front of him just as the ball go there and Romo couldn't lead him because of the 2nd defender.

DRC is their best cover CB. He's better than Prince and 5X better than their 3rd CB. If DRC went out, they would've been able to get Dez free down the field much easier.

Yeah, I'm not sure why that statement by the commentating team is egregious. He might be the best player on their defense. Not saying much, but it would certainly hurt to lose him.

He was commenting on the poor grammar and wording, not the substance of what he tried to say.

It's not the statement, it's the wording. The term he was looking for was "least afford to lose."

I'll also add:

-RB's looked okay last night. They all look good receiving. DMAC's speed looks nice. Randle looks good in the open field. Not sure about their vision.
-Coaching staff looked like they are starting to take advantage of special skill players like Dunbar and Escobar. Good way to compensate for the loss of Dez.
-Offensively may have been too conservative? Just from the layman's eye. Didn't see any shots downfield until we were in hurry up. Then again, there may have been nothing open.
-Witten may have his best season ever, in terms of TD's, with Dez out for a while.

Fumbling and dropping passes is sloppy. That's what bad teams do. Add on an idiotic penalty from Mincey, sloppy tackling toward the end of the game, Dez dropping a wide open pass that could have lead to a TD, and gifting the Giants points without their offense having to step on the field, that's sloppy. If we don't have those problems, we beat that team soundly.

Don't forget the botched fair catch that cost us like 20 yards...

Watching our return game in preseason, I knew this was going to be a problem area all season long. Wasn't a surprise. I just forgot about it. There were a lot of terrible returns last night. One kickoff return (maybe Dunbar?) from 5 yards deep in the endzone and only got back to our 10. Painful to watch. At least our coverage was good.

Joseph Randle may have the speed Murray didn't, but he is far easier to bring down.

I thought so as well. I felt like there were multiple times when Randle ran through a huge hole and got knocked over when he reached the linebackers. Tripped up and bumped over, not brought down with a true tackle.

We laughed because of the way he tried to say it. Has nothing to do with DRC.

Well, this was how 2014 started out, 'cept this time we won...
