A few things I noticed after looking at the tape.

Of course I do. Look at it.
Oh, I'm looking at it. And this is about as far left as his head ever gets.

You can't see how he checks back left them comes back to Hurd?

He obviously didn't "stare down" Hurd on that play.

Dude, what part of that's "as far left as his head ever gets" did you not understand?

Looks like he's staring down Hurd to me, on a deep crossing route.

I understood it and thats great. You see his head going left. Congrats. You saw it go right too towards Witten didn't you? When he was playfaking too right?

Staring down Hurd would mean the entire time he looked at Hurd which he didn't.

Even before he steps into the throw he takes a final glance at Witten.

He makes a quick attempt at a look off at Witten before he makes the throw, but it wouldn't fool anybody. Three people in this thread pretty convinced he stared down Hurd. The video you posted makes it painfully obvious. Not sure why you're still holding that position.

He's not looking at Witten just for the heck of it either. If Witten was open then thats where he would've gone with the ball i'd hope.

I think Romo looks at both Witten and Crayton before throwing to Hurd, but it didn't fool the safety because Hurd was the deepest threat. Romo made a bad decision, however Hurd didn't do him any favors.

as much as i dislike Big Ben, I would like Tony to copy one of his tendencies.....THE PUMP FAKE.....had Tony pump faked on the pick 6 pass, he could have then thrown it down the sideline to his WR, who was just coming open.....and it most likely would have been a TD for us, instead of the Giants.

I also believe that if we can avoid turnovers we will win week in and week out, even if we do not create turnovers ourselves. We lost 4 possessions and 24 points to turnovers and still only lost by 2. Our offense is too potent. Our ST has done very well so far. Our defense is average.....but, average is good enough when we are scoring over 30 points a game.

romo doesnt have big enough hands to effectively pump fake. ben has huge hands which is why he can basically fake as hard as if he were throwing the ball without it slipping from his hands which is why he is so good at. romos fakes dont fool anybody too much maybe just enough sometimes to put it in a window but bens make the DB freeze or bite where as romo can only hope for a hesitation

Agreed with you and Catch 17.

It's quick but he does scan the field. He looks left right left and throws.

He's far enough back he doesn't need to swivel his head. Just scan with his eyes and throw.

He looks left twice to Crayton before he throws to Hurd. Once on the drop back, then again when he steps up. His head moves farther left on the step up, your pic is from the drop back... between 33 and 41 seconds.

Yes, after the handoff, his head is turning such that at some point Jason Witten is in his frame of vision.

That video shows very clearly that he stares down Hurd the entire friggin' time.

That's what I see too. I must be blind as well.

I guess they call that peripheral scanning.

It wasn't meant to fool the safety. He was looking to see if they were open.
