A few things I noticed after looking at the tape.

romo doesnt have big enough hands to effectively pump fake. ben has huge hands which is why he can basically fake as hard as if he were throwing the ball without it slipping from his hands which is why he is so good at. romos fakes dont fool anybody too much maybe just enough sometimes to put it in a window but bens make the DB freeze or bite where as romo can only hope for a hesitation

:laugh2:

What's funny about that quote is wasn't Romo praised after the TB game for freezing the safety and leaving Crayton wide open?

Froze him cold. Just imagine how much better it would have been if his hands were big, like Ben's, though. Nobody on the defense would have been able to move.

Nah, guys, that was just busted coverage. ;)

Did you really watch the tape or did you rewatch the broadcast? Big difference

If you read through the answers, it's the NBC broadcast..

But you know folks always use football terminology...film, tape, etc.

Sorry for saying the word tape. I didn't break out the VHS.

Anyways the film the coaches will watch is an endzone camera angle and thats what NBC gives after almost every play.

You can't ask for a better angle to tell what is going on.

Doesn't bother me, at all. I knew what you meant since I've read the whole thread.

And logically speaking, I think it should be one of those things that's understood that most fans don't have access to actual coaches film.

I think the coaches watch the "all 22" the overhead angle which shows both the offense and defense.

They might but the Endzone angle that is behind your team is the best imo.

There is a way that we could track everything we want, including defensive coverage and the battle at the line of scrimmage, with far more accuracy. Every single play in every NFL game is filmed from both the sideline and the end zone perspectives. This "coaches' film" is then distributed throughout the league to help teams prepare for future opponents. Only NFL teams and NFL Films, the league's in-house production arm, are given access to the film. The only place it's ever shown to the public is on the NFL Network and the ESPN show NFL Matchup.

ok i didnt say he couldnt pump fake or that he will never freeze the DB his pump fake is small, really compact, looks nothing like it would look if he were really gonna throw it and wont/doesnt fool many people. and im saying its not his fault it is a physical limitation that he has average size hands and wouldnt be able to hold the ball if he faked like ben. its the one thing i think ben does well. russell should watch some film on him he could do the same.

gosh sorry i gave an explantion to why romo doesnt have a better pump fake/pump fake like ben, more than you guys did.
