I think we need a WR in rnd 1. At this point as long as someone buries the Giants this year I'll be happy.

Well, we may be picking high enough to get a stud RB - Fournette or Henry - and still get a decent WR in the second round. I would like to see Butler get healthy and see the field - we need his speed.

You must have missed Thursday's game. They were'nt competitive or successful against one of the better teams in the league. This team has some major issues.

Romo was not 100% and it was evident by his performance. If you take away the three TO's the team was in the game. It just got away from them right from the jump. The D played well and considering the time they were on the field I thought they did a solid job.

When you say its the hardest season you've seen since 77, and I only began understanding the game in 2001, it makes me think what did I do to deserve this.

The thing about this season that has been frustrating is that this team has been in every game but two. There have been worse seasons but I knew going in we had no chance to compete week in and week out.

This team does have some talent. That's why it is the worst one I have been through. Every single thing that could go wrong, has.

Yep..

I've seen enough of the rinse and repeat game plan from week to week.

We'll line up next year and do the same things and just hope it goes better.

All of the Training camp news and everything is just a bunch of BS. It's just more of the same.
This post isn't about Garrett but the team plays hard and I think he is doing a solid job. I am sure the guns will be blasting my way after saying this but that's how I feel and what I see. He's not a bad coach and the players seem to respect him.

The players need to make plays and play smart. That has not happened. Plus, does Garrett have an impact on injuries to Romo and Dez? No he does not. Tap the brakes on Garrett.

Yep. Expectations were as high as they ever were for me. Last season was the best I ever saw and this season was the worst

It's a results business. Not a play hard business. He offers absolutely nothing.

Great OP. I agree on all the individual moves but I don't really put anything on the coaching. That could have been better but the bottom line is that had Romo and Dez been healthy all year we would leading our Division by 3 games and be a team that could go deep in the playoffs.

Agree that the biggest mistake of the offseason wasn't letting DeMarco go but in not bringing in a back that could carry the load. I like what DMC has done recently but if we really had an above average RB we would have a record like 6-5 right now. The lack of a running game put more pressure on the fill in QB, which lead to less time of possession, which make the defense weaker, on and on and on.

Well, Jerry just gave him a 5 year, 30 million dollar deal. He's not going anywhere for at least a couple more years. Not that I'm crazy about the idea of him staying, but it's the reality.

Great points. We lost our bell cow running back and then when Romo went down is was a snowball effect.

This o-line has not played as well as expected but a lot of that has to do with a tough SOB running the ball that wears on a defense. We miss that kind of back that plays with a chip on his shoulder and can break a defense. Plus, I think a back like that does have a big time impact on the o-line. That attitude of "we are going to run the ball down your throat and step on you" is contagious. Murray had that.

Put me in the disagree category. He has had a terrible hand of cards dealt to him this year. Take Brady and Gronk (Dez has not been healthy either with foot and now knee issues) off the Pats for half the season and see what their record is.

Tap the breaks.....you see all the injuries the Colts and Patriots have....yet they find away to win.....COLTs are winning with a 40yr old QB.....Patriots have lost almost all their good WRs and look at Denver Broncos...starting a QB who has jsut started his second NFL game and beat the Patriots....

Is it to much to ask for the Cowboys to WIN just ONE GAME....without excuses of injuries......other teams can do.....But EVERYONE in the Zone want to give Garrett a free pass Geuss coaching stops when the franchise QB is out..... AMAZING how many excuses people make to support Jason Garrett......WIN a game just ONE.......Just ONE GAME

We have been a play or two away from winning at least 6 more games. The players need to make plays.

We'd probably lose that too.

Get a grip - the league is parity personified - a play or two each game can and does make the difference.

It takes a lot for any team to drop 7 in a row.

I feel confident saying that the Pats would've done better than us without Brady and Gronk.

We can't be this player dependent. Jerry himself said that the Cowboys were built to not have to rely on Romo in case of an injury.

Romo goes down and we drop 7.

Also, I'm not just factoring in 1 year with Garrett.

I'm factoring in everything I've seen since he got here and like all of you the best thing I can come up with is that the team plays hard.

I agree that we prolly should have at least won a couple of games but we were in most of them until the end. A play here or there and we could have won a few. Some of the coaches around the league that are thought highly of now have had some terrible years as well - Rivera, Lewis, Payton, Coughlin, etc.... Garrett is a good coach IMO and is continuing to get better. I think he was rushed into the spot after Wade was fired and was not ready but I think he is a solid coach.

I thought this was his second year of playing and could be eligible? I wouldn't think he would come back to LSU for another season if he could go pro?

I don't think losing Murray was that big of a deal. It's not like he is lighting it up in Philadelphia. Losing Callahan was bigger than losing Murray but that was inevitable. Better Qb play would help also.

I'm not sure which is more annoying -- the way this team is being run or this backwards logic.
