LOL.......it obviously made a big difference because many people are hammering Garrett for it today.

Whether it was the right thing or not, I'm not debating. My point there was none of us know the context. What should be obvious is the timeout made no difference in the on that drive.

I will lay this one on the defense, but like you said, it was a team loss. Usually is. But this is just another prime example of BAD at game day management. He cant handle it, end of story. Makes BAD decisions. And when your team has injuries and in close games, these little things matter. Like back when we were 8-8 three years in a row. We lost several close games because Garrett blew the game day management. Unfortunately you cant really strip the head coach of timeout calls. Sadly enough.

pretty much every coach has gaffes. sure, it stinks. it wasn't perfect. but garrett was excellent as a whole last year and for two games this year.

I guess it makes people feel better about their arm-chair clock management skills that we could have lost by 8 instead of 11.

Just admit it was stupid and lets move on. No need to defend your undying love for Garrett. Its also not too tough to figure out that if this was a 3 point loss, it would have mattered. Does it really matter that the defense caved enough to make it NOT matter?

My 19 month old daughter knew to let the clock run. Another game, another game day management blunder by Garrett. 9 years running.

Why are people hammering him if it made no difference?

because it's click bait

I would love to hear the actual case as to what difference, not even in the outcome, just that final drive of the first half it would have made. I can see if Atlanta hit a 50 yard FG with no time left, but they were in FG range with what a full minute?

We lose one game when most of our playmakers are out, and now Garrett can't coach, T. Williams should be cut and Weeden should have a clipboard permanently attached to his hands.
Our overreaction is reaching epic proportions. Makes me feel like I'm on the Eagles fan board and living in Philadelphia after last week's lost to the Cowboys.

This is one of the reasons I am refraining from posting for now. As well as responding to some posts. This board is bad enough to begin with at times. But some of the posts and threads seem to extreme. But I have not read very many , just glanced through them.

Garrett can't coach.. Even with our playmakers. He's been fortunate to have Romo.

I hate to bag on him today though because im pointing the finger straight at Rod Marinelli.

Garrett is more like a big picture because he lacks creativity of any kind.. The Dallas offense is SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO damn predictable.

You cant blame Garrett for the offense, he doesnt run the offense anymore. And I loved what we were doing in the first half. The defense just folded. You give Ryan and Julio time to pick you apart and thats what they do.

And what is the name of that joke DT we have that some people keep acting like he does a good job? That clown needs to get cut today.

Awww.....someone is not being nice to your hero Garrett. Want some tissues?

Relax pal, Garrett blew it. No need to get all tied up in a wad.

Again, what did he blow? Make the case how not using the timeout makes any difference at the end of the first half?

The biggest gift to the falcons was getting to play dallas in their current depleted state.
With hardy and Gregory coming off the edge and ro Mac in the middle, the falcons would not have marched unchecked

Anything after the blunder is inconsequential because it would be based on assumptions. I can make plenty of assumption as can you. None of which makes a difference. The first assumption you would make is that Atlanta would have called a timeout. Maybe, maybe not. Maybe 10 more seconds runs off the clock before they do. Your next assumption is that with 30 seconds to go Atlanta runs the same play and has the same result.

Makes no difference. Garrett blew it. The point is that it shows that he doesnt know what he is doing. We have seen this before.

It's the Garrett offense but now we have a coach that is better calling plays out of it.

Still though.. The lack of creativity in the offense is mind blowing..

First down offense that kept getting Randle met 5 yards in the backfield never changed. We never switched it up.

Yes. Even a novice Madden player would know better than to call that timeout. Bad.

That timeout made no difference. Atlanta was not about to let us run all the time off the clock and they kicked a FG with 40 seconds. The pivotal moment was the Devonte Freeman catch and rune before the half.

What? They kicked the FG with 5 seconds left. You let the clock run and get Atlanta to use their timeouts. You get at least a few extra seconds, and they have less timeouts. Less timeouts for Atlanta makes it much more difficult for them. Let the clock run, and it's very unlikely Atlanta gets those 3 points before the half.

right, garrett sucked last year and is completely incompetent. says you.

Try not to go off on a hissy fit. Lets stick with the point.

Which is: Garrett blew it to end the first half with the timeout. Stupid move.

There isnt much game day management that Garrett hasnt been stripped of to this point. And the little that he still has, he seems to continue to blunder. That was sort of a side point.
