A key component to the Ware negotiation to consider

Something that occurred a couple of years ago under the radar may give Dallas tremendous negotiation leverage when it comes to keeping Ware.

Ware was divorced in 2012, and his former wife and he had adopted two children while they were married. Ware is very close to both, and by every account I've read, is a very involved dad. So much, that they sold their house and bought two more in Southlake, which is a relatively small suburb.

Leaving Dallas to play elsewhere would seriously complicate Ware's life unless she went with him, and I don't see that happening, especially if there is another girlfriend or boyfriend involved now. (I'm betting there is.)

A few extra dollars likely wouldn't sway a guy like Ware, who seems to understand his place in Dallas with the fans here. Much opportunity lies here after football.

That is one of the main reasons I think he'll accept a reduction in pay in the end unless some team just offers the world.

No other team can offer anything because then that would be tampering. He can either accept a reduction or he will be on the market.

Well, if he holds out until he's released....but your point is valid. They have him exclusively until June 1st if they want to work on this.

That's touching.

No doubt that's going to be a play a significant role in his decision, and will probably be emphasized by Dallas in their negotiations. I'm sure as long as it's a decent offer he's going to stay for that reason.

He'll make less money but he'll be happy and all will be right in Cowboys land. It'll be a great story.

For a few days, until we trade him and his cap friendly deal for a 4th round pick. High five.

Maybe the ol saying there is a good woman behind every successful man is true. She left his side before the 2012 season?

They want this situation done by Friday because they'll want some money for Saturday when Free Agent negotiating can begin.

I just hope they can reach an agreement. I like Ware and I think Dallas does want to do what they can to keep him but his contract as this stage given the past 2 season is something the Cowboys can't continue with.

As of September 14th, 2013 they were married. Who knows, maybe they divorced in 2012 and then got remarried Sept 13th 2013? The wiki is wrong.

The smart thing for Ware to do is take a pay cut. If he refuses, the smart thing for the Cowboys to do is cut him. Seems simple enough.

On Sirius today they were discussing the Ware contract, they did mention that he is divorced. He has one adopted baby and one between he and his wife. So, is he divorced or not?

That wiki answers is the only thing that comes up when googled saying he is divorced. I would think if he is divorced there would be more out there to confirm it.

Would be no shock if wiki had something wrong. :D
