A little perspective

The Eagles are a good team, but so are we. So you think we are just going to role over at home? Westbrook is a nonfactor at this point in his career. He isn't the same player from a few years ago.

Let's not get it twisted. They've done everything they've done without Westbrook. Names like Maclin, Jackson, Celek, and McCoy are the ones to worry about. It doesn't hurt to have Westbrook back though. Nevertheless, the bottom line is that next week's game is going to be a monster.

If we beat them 3 times in a year, that would be sooooo sweet. :D

Absolutely. It'll just be an extremely tough task.

The Eagirls are clicking on all cylinders right now. They also just got Westbrook back as well. How many of you actually believe we're the stronger of the two teams at this point in time? I would like to believe so and, as a Boys fan, I refuse to believe any different. I believe the team has peaked at just the right time but do wonder about how well we'll match up against the Eagirls.

They're dialed in right now. Are we?

Any given Sunday. The Eagles certainly are not significantly better than us - if they are at all. We already beat them at their place. Who thought we were better than the Saints until we took it to them?

Our QB is exceptional. We have a very good backfield, a great TE and a very good/approaching great WR. Our defense is playing extremely well.

We might win next week and lose the next or vice versa, but it's not because we're a bunch of "gutless chokers" who are a ".500 team" (like so many have stated). The Eagles are good and there is no shame in losing to them, but we can certainly beat them (as we have already).

I am enjoying tonight. The hated Giants are no more. Jacobs and his band of loudmouth jerks can go work on their golf games as they watch that QB "who is not that good" (or whatever Jacobs said) take his team to the playoffs again.

We are in the playoffs and, as we have seen many times recently, anything can happen once you are in.

Enjoy tonight. I'm not worrying about next week at all. No matter what happens, there is a whole new season that starts the week after that I'm looking forward to watching.

The Eagles are a very good team, but they don't strike fear into my soul. And, to be perfectly honest, I'm baffled as to why the media has become so enamored of them.

In my opinion, the Cowboys are better a team than the Eagles in every single facet...with the notable exception of kicker. Unlike the Eagles, the Cowboys need not blitz to get consistent pressure; they can rush only four and drop seven into coverage. This ability gives them a better defense, in my opinion. Furthermore, the Cowboys have a far more dynamic offense; they can run and pass with equal proficiency. Conversely, the Eagles offense is predicated almost entirely on the deep pass to Desean Jackson.

The Eagles have only one notable advantage over the Cowboys: recent history. And that's about to change.

I don't think they're any different or any better than they were when we first played them. We beat them then in Philly.

I think we match up extremely well against them. They live solely on the big play. And our defense doesn't give up many big plays. Once you shut their big play down and make them drive down a long field, they fold. That's exactly what we did last time and we need to do it again.

I got crucified for saying we were peaking at the right time because we lost the next 2 games despite playing very well.

This is true, hence the Eagles tendency to bog down on offense for long stretches.

Believe. Romo's TD against the Skins was magic.

That TD pass was just plain sick! Tony moving with the pocket, aludes a couple of defenders, moves to the right and hits RW in the back corner of the endzone, over two defenders. What a move by Tony and an even better pass. That was some serious touch on that ball.

I believe Tony is ready to take the next step. I feel this team is too.

I think the Eagles aren't built for grind it out long offensive drives.

They want to play the quick strike offense.

Contain Jackson and pay attention to the tight end and force McNabb to throw from the pocket is the game plan we used last time.

Force them to drive the length of the field.

Next week is a big game, but doesn't mean much at the same time. We can lose to Philly in Dallas and we can beat Philly in Philly. I worry about taking 3 of 3 from Philly, but not taking 2 of 3. I'm just glad the Giants are gone for this season. See you next season when hopefully someone outside of Austin steps up.

Winner.

Contain Desean Jackson. We did that last time and it produced a good result. We're not going to stop everyone on that team but Jackson is a key cog that makes that offense go. I thought we did a great job on special teams last time too, limiting Jacksons return opportunities.

I've been waiting to use this.

Thanks to DallasEast for the great emoticon.

Playing in Philly might cost Dallas one or two false start penalties, but other than that I don't think it matters where they play.

I thought Philly also handled Dallas' offense well in the first game, so who knows. It will just come down to focus, heart, and luck.
