Playing in Philly might cost Dallas one or two false start penalties, but other than that I don't think it matters where they play.

I thought Philly also handled Dallas' offense well in the first game, so who knows. It will just come down to focus, heart, and luck.
We're playing in Dallas.

I'm asking you. :D I would like to think both teams are dialed in. It would have been nice to have put the Skins away a little earlier but one cannot complain about a solid win. ;)

That short yardage game needs work though. We don't want it coming back to haunt us in the postseason.

The Skins (and their fans) were put away in the first five minutes. And they never got back up.

as long as they have mcchoke as qb they will never win the big game.

We beat them in Philly - huge win. They beat us down really bad last year. This game = revenge. But when the smoke clears...

'boys win 23-17.

One can only hope this team is trending in the right direction. The last couple of weeks have been a ***send. Whether it's next week or the 1st round of the playoffs, I would like to beat Philly down in a performance reminiscent of the 44-6 drubbing they handed us last year.

The Eagles, Packers and Cowboys are all peaking right now.

Considering the Eagles almost blew that game against the Broncos, I'm not ready to concede that they are head and shoulders better than the 'boys.

If you can shut down the big play against them, you can beat them. We did it once against them. Who knows, we may do it again.
The Broncos played about as sloppy of a game as I have seen them play all season and still almost got the win. I am not impressed with Philadelphia nearly as much as the pundits.

One word:

Defense.

This defense is playing exceptional and this is the reason why we have a chance in every game.

We have played some of the hottest teams in the NFL the past few weeks and either won those games or played very well.

The Eagirls are clicking on all cylinders right now. They also just got Westbrook back as well. How many of you actually believe we're the stronger of the two teams at this point in time? I would like to believe so and, as a Boys fan, I refuse to believe any different. I believe the team has peaked at just the right time but do wonder about how well we'll match up against the Eagirls.

They're dialed in right now. Are we?

Westbrook gives them a another dimension, but they MUST stick to their guns and prevent the big pass plays. That is the Eagles bread and butter.

If they do that, they can beat the Eagles. If they do not, it will be a long day.

Gee, this sounds EXACTLY like the defeatist crap we heard back before the last game... seems to me that we won that game, and in their place, too... seems to me that we held them under 300 yards of total offense... seems to me we picked McNabb twice, and sacked him three times... seems to me that the Iggles were pretty well "dialed in" at that point, too, having gone 4-1 in the previous 5 games, outscoring their opponents 143-75, and they were fresh off a 40-17 stomping of the Giants...

So, why exactly are you so scared of the Iggles this time around?? Why aren't you wondering how well they'll match up with US??

As I am sure you knew before you decided to sound your little tonka drum, I have enjoyed a middle of the road perspective this year. It has been a wonderful place from which to enjoy my Boys and it never leaves me thinking we're bigger/better/bolder than any other team. Different strokes there drummer boy.

Gotta love when someone unearths a day old thread just to sound his wittle drum. I love you too silverbear. Nice contribution to the thread. Thanks. ;)

That short yardage game needs work though. We don't want it coming back to haunt us in the postseason.

That was the only thing that had me pissed during the Skins game, but it sure did have me pissed... I lay it off on predictable playcalling in those situations-- nothing but deep handoffs, between the tackles runs...

How 'bout a fullback dive, or even a quarterback sneak?? Or, *** forbid, how 'bout some play action and a pass, to put the defense back on their heels?? Hell, they could even try running wide for a change...

Show them some variety like that, and that deep handoff between the tackles might even start to work... but I HATE sitting in front of my TV, knowing what's coming on 3rd and short... if I know what's coming, of course the opponents know what's coming...

That's my one gripe with Garrett, he seems to lack imagination, or perhaps a sense of adventure, in goal line and short yardage situations... I find myself wondering if those two failed pass plays at the end of the game in Denver didn't turn him overly cautious in those situations...

If so, I blame you bastidges who screamed long and loud on these message boards after that game... :D

Actually, Bleu, I meant to tweak some of the other gloom and doomers, so I kinda owe you an apology... but my point stands, there's little reason not to be rather confident going into this game; we handled them once before, at their place... most important, we did a pretty good job on that "explosive" offense that you were talking about...

And now, that explosive offense has a bit of a problem on its hand, a backup center going up against our Pro Bowl nose tackle... this will not make them more effective offensively...

Gotta love when someone unearths a day old thread

Hey, my PC at home is on the fritz, and I was off work the last two days... this has been my first chance to get online since the game, so yeah, I'm responding to a few threads that have fallen off the first page... in fact, I had to go back ten pages to find the first unread thread...

I never knew there was a statute of limitations on responding to threads, anyway... LOL...

just to sound his wittle drum.

I see-- you can sound YOUR "wittle drum" with what you call "perspective", but I'm not allowed to offer my own...

Sorry, but I think my points are every bit as valid as yours were, indeed I think they were somewhat more valid... and I responded to your opinion with opinions, while your response seems to be lacking in substance, instead substituting what sounds suspiciously like a whiny complaint...

Never knew you were the type that couldn't deal with rebuttal...

Nice contribution to the thread. Thanks. ;)

IMO, it had more substance than this weak response... so, do you have any reaction to the facts that I stated??

Again, while I intended to be a bit sarcastic in my response, I did not intend to be personally insulting... sorry you took it that way, but if you'll think back to the general tenor of the posts before the first Iggles games, they WERE quite similar to your initial post in this thread-- "how are we gonna handle the explosive Iggles offense??" seemed to be the general theme...

And I remarked on how similar your post was to those posts... again, my intent was more to mock the gloom and doomers, but I didn't mean to lump you in with them...

So courage, Camille, I think the Boys have a pretty fair chance of beating the Iggles, mostly because I honestly believe they're the better team...

I would agree for the most part with the exception of the Giants game. The defense wasn't very good, just okay in that game. I know some want to discount the Jacobs long TD catch but that was a legal play.

Our efforts against SD (except after Ware went out), NO and Washington were all extremely good.

You don't get off the hook that easy... all will not be forgiven until and unless we win the next two games...

I will say that I'm glad you didn't cook a live chicken... that would be wrong... :D
