We have a lot of questions on defense.

Even if Jaylon Smith fully recovers and is the transformative player we think he can and will be, we still have a lot of questions on defense.

Our secondary is finally start to show up, lead by Byron Jones who is slowly starting to show up for us, but do we re-sign Morris Claiborne? I'm thinking he is going to prove expensive. Given his inconsistency, do we dump a ton of money into him? Can he prove that he can stay healthy? Brandon Carr certainly can't be the answer going forward... We need to address this in a meaningful way next year. We have too many dangerous receivers in our division to slip backwards in the secondary.

The biggest issue is our defensive line though. Let's assume for a second that we're all set at defensive tackle.

Demarcus Lawrence isn't going to carry this line by himself and you certainly can't bank on Randy Gregory. We need to get pass rush help in free agency or the draft next year. This is priority one. Hopefully when Jaylon returns he can be used in a pass rushing role as well, but we the hallmark of this defense is pass rush, and it just doesn't work without one.

Hopefully some of theses questions are answered over the course of the season. Then evaluate after the SB victory, go from there.

The only keepers in this whole starting defense are Lee, Scandrick, Jones the rest can be upgraded. Or are rookies.

We are good at keeping possession of the football so that makes up for it some..

As crappy as our defense is they are in the top half of the league when it comes to points allowed..

The key is to not have them on the field with the game on the line. I have 0 confidence in them getting a stop.

3 games & 4 turnovers too.

  • Not sold on our secondary yet. A couple of miss passes by Cousins and they are lighting us up.
  • Do not re-sign Mo unless it's very team friendly and reasonable. He will test the waters and get 8-10 mill offers, let him go. Don't let him pull a T Crawford on us
  • Jaylon smith may never play football again, not sold that even if he dies he's a generational linebacker. Ray Lewis was a generational linebacker, I don't see that in him. Just my opinion, I'm sure there are those who view him as a HOFer, I think he doesn't play ever
  • Tapper will never play again - just my opinion. And if he does, he will not be good.
  • Stephen Bowen, Jason Hatcher, Jay Ratcliff, Anthony Spencer, Marcus Spears, and Demarcus Ware > than any of Garretts Dlines as head coach.
  • Flozell Adams, Marc Columbo, Leonard Davis, Doug Free, Andre Gurode = Dallas current line
Dallas was able to maintain both a decent Oline and D line in the past with Jerry the GM, what happened? Was it Stephens or Garretts doing? This utter disrespect for the D line.
